But that's a massive derailment.

Quite right... leads for another great topic to be honest. Back to the topic at hand.

Is it me, or does it seem like the bombs went off prematurely? Heck, we're finding more of them unexploded...

If so then I dont know what they would have been waiting for, timing an explosion to coincide with the "finish" of a marathon is pretty much impossible since they are so spread out. If they wanted to do the most damage they would have detonated at the start when there were 30k people there.

...and when we go to War against an opposing force, which side is good?

You're taking the quote beyond its boundaries. The purpose is simply to state that though *** up things happen these things are the exception and not the rule.

Even at war, the vast majority of the citizenry isn't engaging in mass murder even if opposing sides both define themselves as "good". The majority of individuals that make up an army don't exactly enjoy the affair of killing people and those who do are usually frowned upon by their peers.

Maybe they were waiting for the moment for all the runners to congregate at the finish line as well as the spectators... but... didn't happen that way.

Has anyone seen any credible information about a picture of a figure walking on the rooftops during the explosion? I saw a picture posted on Facebook, but wasn't sure if it was just photshopped/exaggerated, or if it had any credibility/relevance.

There was a map thing on one of the sites but can't find it now that showed the explosions and an unexploded. Although sure there is more unexploded found by now but at first glance looked like he hoped people would run to the second explosion, get hit and then few would run other way or while evacuating, get hit and possible go back and forth like a ping pong match. But dozens of possible executions but still saddening that it happened regardless.

... I don't think there's been a photo released that show's a rooftop unless it was just put up in the last 15 minutes.

I kind of hate to pick on WWII, but seeing as a side topic of defining "Good" versus "Evil" came up, this is somewhat relevant, and i will post something relevant to the topic after my rant.

Now, onto the Boston City Bombings.

Only in the thick fog of carnage, when we first believe we've lost faith in humanity, do we truly see that we are capable of true good. We instinctively rush to aid those around us who have fallen ill, and we comfort those who have suffered loss. From the ashes of pain and suffering can come a strong will, and the power to not only endure, but to conquer our fears. It becomes easy to condemn those responsible, but harder still, is to take it upon ourselves to become stronger, to move forward, and to remain with the faith of the people we know and love, and to build new connections with the strangers seeking aid.

I say unto you, "We have our Humanity, we strive for greatness, and we will build our hearts so that no one can instill in us the fear of losing our families, for they will always be a part of who we are, and why we are here.

This is wrong if it turns out to be true then I'll eat my own words but this is false. They haven't caught anyone or have a Saudi suspect , there are only 2 confirmed dead and now 100+ people hurt.

Well I may end up eating them after all they are now looking for black/dark skinned male that was spotted today. Still didn't have a Saudi National in custody . Also looking for a Penske truck.

CNN has just now reported that a Saudi national who is being treated with a leg injury is a person of interest and is being questioned. They are trying to run leads against this person but has not been tied to the bombings as of yet.

*Edit* I'll give credit where credit is due. Tenshi was the first one here to mention any article or source that spoke of this Saudi national and we as a forum proceeded to blast him/her for it. For that, Tenshi I apologize for proclaiming that your information was false.

o.0 Training exercise looks like they may have had a warning about this a head of time. But at the same time maybe that is just routine for them to do that with such a big event like this. Lets hope this doesn't turn out to be another Benghazi where the government knew and did nothing to prevent it.

I heard that too. What a way to lead off. Regardless of the reasons for the attack, who in their right mind would ask such an asinine question in the wake of this tragedy?

Lets not forget, 3 dead so far.
An 8 year old boy.
A girl (Age unlisted but was a child)
(No info on this person but confirmed 3 dead)

Lets Also hope that some of these people survive:
2 year old boy massive head injury.
(That guy who had his leg blown off, can easily bleed to death)

and hope that everyone who does survive with lost limbs can find a way to return to normal life...i cant imagine losing a limb and returning to anything i currently do.

When you suffer an injury, something like losing a limb can become catastrophic in nature to how you live your life. It can affect not only you, but how the people around you live as well.

There are the stares, the glares, and peekers, as well as people who ask the most HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE questions, loss of employment, severe long lasting pain, and it can even break up the family unit.

They can't return to what their previous normal lives were, since something has fundamentally changed. They have to seek a new normalcy in an attempt to piece back their lives.

There are also questions about how they would have lived had they not been injured, what they could have done, been able to do, and so on.

Not that it can compare but I recent lost a part of my middle finger on my right hand in an accident and its been about 5 weeks and it has been pretty terrible.

I'm a draftsman so I have been off work, and am currently doing physio to restore proper use in my hand.

When I heard about the guy with the lost leg I immediately felt for him. What he is going thru has to be a million times worse... I'm keeping him in my thoughts.

Everything Bloodrose is spot on to what I've been going through, and just for a finger. I can only imagine how bad it is to loose an arm or leg etc. I have a very new perspective for people who have had to lose a part of themselves to an accident or amputation.

Who was hired by Obama as a plot to take away our guns and rip up the constitution.

Three weeks later, Obama will be asked "WHY DIDNT YOU SAVE THE EIGHT YEAR OLD OBAMA! YOU COULDVE DONE SOMETHING!"
