If their adjustement is only going to bhe the change in the stat % I don't think anything will change.
Wether it's a 20% difference, a 10% or a 1%, 4/5 will always be seen as a bad choice for "good" players who want to maximize damage.

If they will ALSO raise the maximum cap to say 20 or 25 then things might be different.

Also I wonder, why are they raising the magic cap only and not the combat skill one? I would have loved to get 8/8 in another skill =/

Raise your hand if you completed this stuff and got all the best equip/armor so far....yeah what i thought. cmon SE we just started sinking our teeth into this new stuff.

Dont get me wrong im all for new battle content, im just lol at the way SE phrases it as if the majority of players have completed Wilds/Skirm and were like "meh now im bored"

Looking forward to that wildskeeper and skirmish update! I'm already bored with killing the three kings, and if I'm forced to do another skirmish...oh SE you so silly with your bold proclamations in updates followed by facepalm ninja edits.

Hopefully with the next batch of enmity adjustments we will see our backline jobs able to safely cast spells like...well anything. The WS merit update coming through finally is a relief, as much as people are scared of reso nerf, the thought of actually being able to get more than 3 workable weapons skills is just fine by me.

They had talked about making Stage1 of every WS 65% then increase 5% with further levels. So people could merit more then 3 WS for jobs they use.

I remember this as well but it won't really matter. For any job you are serious about playing you will still want 5/5.

Edit: I should elaborate and say any job where the merit WS is relevant to you.

They cant nerf reso... If they did they would have to nerf alot of other WS as they can put up comparable numbers if geared properly.
Upheaval
Exenterator
Shoha
Plus more that are very strong!
Those weaponskills can put up very high numbers. For instance high spiking dmg, if you compare MS Upheaval to MS Reso!

Or otherwise Entropy, Shoha, Upheaval, Reso etc we have all seen the non bandwagon WS put up numbers that make you look!

I think all the WS can put up outragous dmg if/when geared properly so to say the least they cant single out 1 bandwagon WS to nerf as they all have potential to do the same!

If they nerf reso everyone would just jump to Upheaval. "Mainly the warriors that are doing MS and puting up 9-10k+ and people say its unfair that WS does so much" not realizing its the /ja and gear provided that is pushing it.

When did they ever even hint at nerfing reso? It already has a 15% attack penalty. Run needs a strong WS other than Ruinator if it's gonna compete. I'm now happy about this WS adjustment. Now the 1/5's I set in preparation for this, wont' suck nuts.

We just won our first Bee Naakual in carbuncle, so currently 1/3 on them. 25% col rate, fight was about 4-5 hours long.

Leave it few days for col rate to up to 25%ish in morimar and hennetiel, and they'll go down as well. And once few ppl will take them down, col rate will go even higher, making it even more easy to complete it.

You get a perma KI uopn victory, which will most likely be used to acces those new Naakual.

Unless I am just completely mistaken, nowhere did they ever mention that they were singling Resolution out. All they're doing is lowering the modifiers for the merit weapon skills and making it so less points have a higher modifier than before, effectively allowing people to merit more skills now. That's really it.

This basically, unless they let us have more merits to use overall (which is what I really want). Would it be game-breaking for us to have four or five 5/5 merited weapon skills?

SE has some sort of hardon for denying players so they'll never increase cap. instead they'll make it so that the non-min/maxers can play with the other skills.

I like how you put it, and still 1/5 will now be competitive, but in the back of my mind I'm still gonna be pissed I can't just max a few more due to that 15-20% difference or w/e it turns out to be. >_<.

I think the idea is by limiting us the make us define a couple main jobs instead of letting us play all 22 at full strength. I guess it's the trade off for letting us level to 99 in a day or 2.
