First thing you need to fix is to call the language Irish, not Gaelic. *

On European keyboards Ctrl + Alt + aeoui adds the accent/fada.

There aren't many traditions on St. Patricks Day in Ireland - certainly not gifts. While it is a national holiday it's actually a low key affair outside of Dublin - many places in the US actually have much bigger celebrations than you would have in Ireland. I know a few friends who visited Ireland on the day itself and were a little disappointed.

* Acceptable however if you're referring to the general culture of the Irish, Scottish, and Manx people.

A big part of the reason that the St Patricks day parade is so big in the US, is because unfortunately there are limited holidays that are widely enough recognized to celebrate our irish heritage at such a grand scale. Like you have pride in your lineage, so do we, but as North Americans we don't always have the opportunity to knock elbows with family and friends in our own culture. The parades are just an excuse to gather and drink and honor where we came from. Sure there are a bunch of drunk *** there, but are you telling me Ireland's a dry country? Like I mentioned before, this is all for fun, not to upset anyone. I hope that you join us in making a huge deal out of the holiday, even if it gets a little far fetched and silly. A new expansion's being released on a game so many thought was dying, and as geekish as it is to find that something to celebrate in that, it means that a whole other set of family and friends and culture gets to continue. When games die it is very sad. You lose touch with friends you made, even across countries somtimes. So you should treasure the friends, allies, and even the trolls you find there. ^^ this is our way of doing that. It just so happens that the adoulin expansion is coming out right around the holiday. So, like I said I'm always welcoming the constructive criticism and corrections you all have to the details, but the name of the game is fun. :3 as long as we can all agree on that then I hope we won't have any problems.

St. Paddy's day in America is a holiday of inclusion much like M. L. King day.

You do know that there was a time when the Irish weren't white don't you? Search "no Irish need apply" for a start. (Full disclosure: I'm Jewish and not Irish {yes some are both there is even a song about one but I can't spell it.....}. We Jews mostly are white now and where we aren't we pass.)

The parades celebrate the inclusion, but mostly its a party, drink, and eat holiday. Gotta love Hallmark and the liquor lobby.

We are just not as well renowned for our drinking as the Irish :3 That's the reason I'm sticking to anyway.
