Secondly the Freedom of Information Act legally protects these journalists to publish this information.
Personally, I would like to know who has a gun in my neighborhood. I wouldn't want my child playing in a home with a gun in it. This should be a municipal matter not a federal matter tbh.
So maybe the problem is that some people are too gutless to maybe just say ASK if someone has guns in the house before they let their children over. It's better for you to post the names and addresses of every legally registered gun owner than that possible awkward moment where you ask a simple question. Maybe you can just ask them over the internet where we are all safe.

Many of you think having a gun in the household is an American foundation to protecting our households...
Perhaps we should start asking "how good is your aim and if you carry a magnum" when selecting potential spouses!! LOL

California gunowner shoots and kills armed home intruder, wounds 2 others, while his kids were hosting a sleepover.
This happened last year just before Christmas. Media IGNORED it.

Definitely find out what parents have guns, you want your kids to be safe.

Arnt those standard questions for a woman to ask anyway?

I however would rather not take the massive gamble of waiting 10+ minutes for law enforcement if there's an armed burglar in my home. I've presented this argumented b4, and I'll do it again:
Where the f#ck are you living? If YOU feel in such danger that one's home/family is in jeopardy that need to have a firearm, for the purposes of protection(huge difference than having one for gaming), than I think you need to evaluate WHERE you are living and perhaps move elsewhere. planet earth, last I checked, we can't move off the planet "yet."

Could link stuff about gun accidents now, but i don't really care. People will never agree on this kind of stuff anyways
Just happy i live far away from this whole madness :O

why would you be afraid of an object if you have it properly stored and are trained to use it?
makes no sense.

Next logical question. Why do gun accidents happen?

Most gun accidents are because of an idiot behind the hammer.
Even moreso, when the idiot is trying to use a gun in lieu of a hammer...

Next logical question. Why do gun accidents happen? same reason traffic accidents, knife accidents, toaster in the tub accidents etc happen.
you people would have more credibility if you'd actually argue for less accidents (or less deaths/violence) in general than showing your blatant vitrol to guns.

There was no vitriol involved on my part. You asked why wouldn't you want guns in a house despite proper training. The answer is, accidents happen.

Unfortunately, honest, smart, good people, getting guns means idiots will to. Taking guns away from both doesn't do anything to criminals and loony toons.

you didn't actually, you asked a question.
also misplaced fear of accidents isn't a logical reason to void one's home of an item.

We could require more training. We could hold people more accountable. But I forgot, that's taking away your rights.

I answered your question with a question. Clearly you understood the point, because your answer wasn't a simple "accidents happen". You went on to trivialize gun accidents by referring to pool toasters.

I agree with more screening. I don't understand why the gun purchasing form "Form 4473" asks about things like mental health when the ATF agent checking your background can't reliably access that information.
Please don't assume that everyone who wants their right to guns wants it irresponsibly.
The problem with gun control in our country, as I see it, is we don't properly support the laws we have with other legislation. We make a law, halfass enforce it, and are SHOCKED when "it's not doing enough".
Of course, then you have the feds encouraging gun shops to violate federal law cuz the government wants to know where guns are going. They're not going to DO ANYTHING about it, but gosh it's neat to know.

a question isn't an answer.
I answered yours anyway, and they are trivial.

we do a good job of this commercially, the inherent flaw is private sales.

you people would have more credibility if you'd actually argue for less accidents (or less deaths/violence) in general than showing your blatant vitrol to guns. I say there needs to be gun licensing programs like drivers licenses in another thread, you bite my head off. If there was a decent or above generally *** knowledge level required to license a gun to carry we wouldn't have half these problems we do today. The other half would be the illegal gun owners, who you would well more than likely eliminate with proper enforcement protocols instead of half assed *** we have today. Im not saying a licensed person wont shoot themselves in the foot or the *** cheek when they draw the weapon, but you could atleast know this person knows how to aim, shoot, and by all means USE THE WEAPON EFFICIENTLY before giving them access to one as well as knowing the laws surrounding guns. With cars you have to know what signs are, what general speed limits are (providing there is no sign posted), and then you have to know all the technical ***to boot. Why oh why dont we implement something similar for guns and other weapons?
So we're licensing idiots to carry guns. Makes me feel safe. I would rather Licensing mean that you are atleast proficient enough not to shoot yourself or a completely different target than you are supposed to...but then again, they'd give licenses to the cast of Jersey Shor and their ilk cause of the second amendment ._.

Accidents happen, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to minimize them lol
If car accidents unavoidably happen why bother requiring people going through driver's school or ticket them?

If someone wants to publish my address because I own a few firearms, they can go right ahead. Hell, if someone wanted to stop by and see them, I'm more then happy to oblige.
You may just see the barrel first if you decide you stop by, break in and try to steal what is mine or harm anyone inside.
I happen to be be a military medic and have no qualms defending my household.
Various politicians and media refusing signs saying "This home is proudly gun free", for the obvious reasons, yet the primary publication they pursue, saw fit to publish a list of names/addresses for registered gun owners.
