Pre-installed Games On 3DS

I decided to pick up a 3DS so i'm going to wait till the fire emblem bundle.

However i'm not too familiar with 3DS (or anything nintendo since DS to be honest)

Anyone know how the pre-installed games with a bundle work? as of now just assuming it's like my PSP with the SD Card.

The later PSP bundles came as redeem codes for PlayStation Network. I have a PSP GO which came with some games bundled, they were codes.

The original Nintendo way with the DSi was giving 1000 Nintendo shop points with the system when you connect it to the internet the first time. I had it this way with my DSi.

The DSi XL had pre installed games come in from factory. Unfortunately they vanish if you format the storage and you can't replace them if they're lost.

I suppose the 3DS bundle works like the DSi XL.

The 3ds game is tied to the e shop. Even if you change the SD card you can just redownload it from the store.

It's similar to the ones I have on my DSi then. Thanks for confirming. I don't have a 3DS.
