We'll be making it possible to increase your movement speed in town by advancing in new guild-related activities found in Seekers of Adoulin.
For towns outside of those found in Seekers of Adoulin we're thinking about making it possible to increase movement speed while in town via the fulfillment of certain requirements. As we don't want to simply increase town movement speed, we'd like to offer this benefit as a reward for achieving something. Likewise, since movement speed outside of town would have effects on battle, it would be difficult for us to do anything above and beyond the current system. With that said, we will be making adjustments to a large amount of teleportation devices to warp to a variety of areas in order to make game play even more comfortable. | |

If they would put a tele device by the outpost warp npc in starter cities I could finally set my HP in norg and have peace and quiet all the live long day. Do it!

Why even have town npcs? Why can't every transaction take place in our house, where we can select everything that's available to buy/sell/whatever from any npc?
If I think about it more, it's actually more realistic. I can pretty much get anything I want delivered straight to my house from my PC. I can't, however, run any faster between 7-11 and King Soopers than I can between Tree 1 and Rock 8.

For outside of town, increase the speed of Chocobos. They aren't at max speed since this thing can outrun it. The potential is especially there for a personal one we can raise.

Sounds more like, Just give us gear with move speed +50% and be done with it >.>
Anything super hard like legion where they have move speed, well! Valkyrie in Odin v2 have flee speed, so that's not gunna affect battles >.>
You mean normal trash mobs that don't kill a player with move speed anyways (typically they have reasonable gear to kill anything EP in 99.99% of mobs outside towns are ep or tw) How exactly would it affect stuff?
omg VW???? God talk about rubbish.
Only zone I can think move speed 50% would affect would be NNI in terns of battle content. Perhaps Legion but lol.

If I wanted realism, I'd go outside.

If you look at other Mmo's they have flight paths, mounts (use any time.) and other modes of transport... Yes SE try's to keep it old school but the travel is one reason why ppl don't play FFXI. If they make it easy to get around then I think it could last another 5 years.

Are people really bitching about extra movement speed in a place they probably spend 80% of their time?
I welcome it. Will let me change jobs and gear up faster so I can go back out to doing events.

For me the clunky inventory system is still what takes up like 80% of the time it takes for me to gear up. It's not a ton of running to go from mog house > porter moogle and back, then run out to Qufim to VW port out or whatever.
It's a nice change, but it won't help me much with job changing. It will be very nice when I'm doing cutscenes and quests though.

I'm certainly appreciative of the change, but I have to strongly agree with Kincard nonetheless. The inventory system has been extensively congested and cluttered from neglect for many years. Extending the capacity our gobbie bags, or even introducing "more" bag options isn't exactly a rational solution to how encumbering it is to take advantage of what was initially implemented in gameplay.
Though I will admit, porter moogles was a great move. Just wish it was a little more streamlined than done through KI vouchers.

This, with the added question of: why is ANYONE bitching about ANY upgrade they give us? Seriously, it's not like they're saying "Well, we're going to give you more movement speed in town, but in return, Hasso is only going to be 1% haste and 4 Subtle Blow now".
They're trying to make the non-game parts of the game easier and less obnoxious. Applaud it.
