Or any Pulse weapon, and I spam voidwatch all the time. - Content in the game you really hate doing, but you do it anyway. Farming seals for empyrean gear, for anyone. - The most helpful player(s)(or linkshell) you have done things with. Usagy, Kreed, Lemina, Djenadi, Zoris, Berland, Kinglynch, Ccl, Yxsu and all of my friends from VivaLaChain/MostlyHarmless, love you guys. - Your favourite job. Warrior and Ranger - The worst job you play for the sake of getting ahead. Thief - Those old pieces of gear you wish were not collecting dust in Storage or NPC. Got nothing like that atm. I pretty much use everything xD - The most useless abilities that you want to use, but wastes your time. Scavenge. - The greatest accomplishment(s) of your year. 99 Ukonvasara, 99 Annihilator, and Ragnarofl - The nerfs to the game you wish didn't happen. Holding buffs on NPCs and ???s Also the embrava nerf, even though it was overpowered and deserved a nerfing... they didn't have to hit it that hard with the nerf bat. It was such an awesome buff. - Content you want changed because it's unfair and purely luck based. Voidwatch drops, and ADL... Because sometimes ADL just says *** you. /winbutton - The jobs, relics and empyreans you see all the time. Beastmasters are EVERYWHERE. Also Ragnaroks and Ukonvasaras! - Them jobs you very rarely see nowadays. RDM and PUP - When you checked someone and thought... Wow, that weapon, wish I had that. Ryunohige, Conqueror. - The most disappointing battle you should have won. Anytime I joined a pickup Provenance run and it failed after several hours of waiting. - Your thoughts on special events(Mog Bonanza etc.) SE have produced this year. Gimme dat Mythic/Huginn!

- The most enjoyable fight you have had. This didn't happen in 2012, but close enough to me: First fight VS Shinryu at 90 without cheesing it with a brew. - The battlefield you have done the most. Dynamis - Qufim probably, lol. - Content in the game you really hate doing, but you do it anyway. Dynamis... - The most helpful player(s)(or linkshell) you have done things with. The only linkshell I wear. - Your favourite job. NIN - The worst job you play for the sake of getting ahead. I like all the jobs I play on some level, I only tend to dislike having to go to LS events on a designated job for a really long stretches. - Those old pieces of gear you wish were not collecting dust in Storage or NPC. Reacton Arm >.> - The most useless abilities that you want to use, but wastes your time. Almost every NIN ability - The greatest accomplishment(s) of your year. Kannagi 90 => 99 - The nerfs to the game you wish didn't happen. Blinkers, probably. I don't disagree with the nerf necessarily, it just kinda sucks its gone. - Content you want changed because it's unfair and purely luck based. ADL, probably. VW drops are dumb but it feels better to have a shot at an item than to have a monster randomly murder you because of a bad dice roll, especially considering it takes hours to even farm his pop. - The jobs, relics and empyreans you see all the time. Ragnarok, Ukon, Kannagi, Mandau. - Them jobs you very rarely see nowadays. PUP, RDM - When you checked someone and thought... Wow, that weapon, wish I had that. Not a weapon, but I really wish I had a DRing. - The most disappointing battle you should have won. Ehh...none really stick out to me off the top of my head. There's a few monsters where I've died at <10% so I can't name one specific one that really got me down. - Your thoughts on special events(Mog Bonanza etc.) SE have produced this year. Pretty much the same as every other year to me. There have been a lot more community-type events, though (Screenshot contests etc), which I approve of.

Drop from VW, system sucks so badly - The jobs, relics and empyreans you see all the time. Rags and Vera's,Lots of Drks and Mnks - Them jobs you very rarely see nowadays. Don't see Drg very much - When you checked someone and thought... Wow, that weapon, wish I had that. Yagrush, but........the dream will soon be a reality - The most disappointing battle you should have won. Vrtra, never won that battle when we did it in the past due to stupid mistakes in ally.It's east now, friend solo's it on bst but I would have liked to have won back in the day. - Your thoughts on special events(Mog Bonanza etc.) SE have produced this year. Unfair distribution of fun items like for example, moogle wand.My hubby got one and a suit and about 6 other things along with his 60 rift thingies and he doesn't even want the bloody wand but I do cos it's cute!!

Got my online time cut considerably in 2012 but I finished Abyssea storyline, Rajas Ring, soloed ZM 17, and soloed Storms of Fate. I would had soloed the last part of the ZM and COP storyline but had to replace my router and the wireless internet device the PC had wasn't compatible with it. To make matters worse the cd-rom drive stopped working and I can't replace that device. - The nerfs to the game you wish didn't happen. It happened rather late in the year but Embrava change from regain to refresh. - Content you want changed because it's unfair and purely luck based. Pop times for some of the lesser 21-24h mobs (Argus, etc) - The jobs, relics and empyreans you see all the time. Usually I see them on WAR, NIN, BLM, WHM, and SAM. Its usually some combination of them, but not always. I only see DRK pimping their empyreans and relics. - Them jobs you very rarely see nowadays. Hard to believe its BRD and SMN. Outside of VW its never used. - When you checked someone and thought... Wow, that weapon, wish I had that. Be nice to have the WAR empy but a FT job and real life means I don't have the time to farm it. - The most disappointing battle you should have won. I didn't have a disappointing battle but one mob kept giving me disappointing drops. - Your thoughts on special events(Mog Bonanza etc.) SE have produced this year. I don't even bother with special events most of the time.

Never imagined I would get so many responses to this thread. If I did I would have worded the questions a bit better, and probably added some more!
Recurring themes in 2012. - Poor RDM :( - No love for DRG PUP and RNG. - Voidwatch loot system hated by 99% of players. - Dynamis, once a well loved endgame activity, turned into a farming ground that people hate to be in. - So many old pieces of gear kept around for nostalgia rather then be useful. - SE doing nothing special with its events. - Legion is fun - Embrava/PD/Buff locking/Neo Nyzul jumps/ADL/Ukkos Fury/Victory Smite/Blinkers should not have been nerfed, or the need to be lucky - Futae, Despoil, Steal, and many other abilities are totally pointless. - WHM BLM THF and other more 'useful' jobs being played just to get ahead. - People have a lot of fun soloing old content - So many great accomplishments, Mythics, level 99 Empys/Relics, or even casual players getting their first empyrean/relic, along with getting lucky in certain battlefields, makes this year feel a lot more rewarding to most players. In the old FFXI, people were happy to get some artifacts/relic/sky/sea armour, and getting relic weapons was just a far away dream to most. It seems in nowadays FFXI, getting these relic/empys are the standard for anyone, and although some have acquired 15-20 different ultimate weapons, those players who have played for many years casually, and was finally able to get hold of ONE of these weapons, sums up their many years of play. We should appreciate the accomplishments of others more, as some simply do not have the time and resources to accomplish as much as others. Congrats to everyone!

In 2012, that grade dropped to an F for unimaginative and predictable event design. I stopped playing in August but may return if Seekers of Adoulin is good. In addition to the above, I feel Guild Wars 2 raised the bar for the MMO genre in 2012. I picked it up after taking a break from FFXI and it is better in every way. I am already working on a Legendary weapon in GW2 so sadly I may skip Seekers of Adoulin entirely. It's a shame, I played FFXI from 2004-2012 and loved it.

None do Legion on my server. However, I was once lucky enough to pick up a shout for it. I found it super fun even though we lost. - The battlefield you have done the most. Pteam(My)The Night crew - Kama, Yasu, Kilah, Kylian, with a little Zuggy. These guys have given me a reason to not just play for 2 months then quit again till newer content. - Your favourite job. Really come to enjoy playing Thf again. It was my first 75 but when I started HNM'n I was locked into Brd, Rdm and Blm. Then with abyssea Mnk and Nin. Just really enjoying Thf again. - The worst job you play for the sake of getting ahead. Blm/Brd - Those old pieces of gear you wish were not collecting dust in Storage or NPC. Homam - even with the upgrade system for them, still lacking. - The most useless abilities that you want to use, but wastes your time. Boost on Mnk, In this tp burn age of ffxi would be nice to use boost with out hindering your overall dot. Also I want to charm things again. - The greatest accomplishment(s) of your year. Apoc 99. Aye, yes resolution - yada~yada I still think apoc is smexy and have 99 oat in case I decide to use it. - The nerfs to the game you wish didn't happen. Blinkers. - Content you want changed because it's unfair and purely luck based. Lottery NMS, all of them need a max re-pop time: 4 hours maybe. Killing PH on some of them for 6+ hours is just dumb and a time sink. - The jobs, relics and empyreans you see all the time. Kannagi, Uku. Lots of DD jobs who only know how to use 2 macros Haste/WS. Cant wait till tp burn content is brought down and FFXI is brought back to actual strategy. - Them jobs you very rarely see nowadays. Pup Rdm - When you checked someone and thought... Wow, that weapon(item), wish I had that. I admire anyone who took the time to "earn" a mythic weapon. Not buy gil or cheat with some gil bot system. but who truly earned a mythic. - The most disappointing battle you should have won. Doing a Provenance Pick up and wiping at 1%. Folks decided about 5% it was cool for them to DD Prov and not worry about adds any more; oh how quickly he becomes invincible. - Your thoughts on special events(Mog Bonanza etc.) SE have produced this year. Got the scythe nin can use, so guess it is kinda of cool I can proc all red besides freezebite, and all blues besides hexa.

Why are so many people hatin' on Futae? Job ability is not useless!
Best was announcment of expansion and bringing back the mog bonanza and worst was upgrades to salvage.

Not really a singular fight but I absolutely love doing Qilin, just good old fashioned super buffed TP burning. - The battlefield you have done the most. White Mage. - Those old pieces of gear you wish were not collecting dust in Storage or NPC. I dont have enough great outdated gear to collect dust with. - The most useless abilities that you want to use, but wastes your time. Mijin Gakure or Scavenge - The greatest accomplishment(s) of your year. Finishing NNI. (I haven't done enough in the end game department to have a better accomplishment) Or finally getting Mekira and Toci's. - The nerfs to the game you wish didn't happen. TP return on multi-hit weapon skills and the entire life of Red Mage. As for this year? None, which I'm sure is one of the reasons I don't have r/m/e weapon. - Those old pieces of gear you wish were not collecting dust in Storage or NPC.Luisant Haubert (and Hauberk +1). Bought that because I was serious about leveling drk. - The most useless abilities that you want to use, but wastes your time.Charm. why I retired bst - The greatest accomplishment(s) of your year.Found unclaimed Argus up and around. Got PCC to drop. - The nerfs to the game you wish didn't happen.Nerfs? Nothing changed for me. - The most disappointing battle you should have won.Solo'd fafnir down to 1% on thf/dnc. Then absolute terror spam left me helpless and I died. He was back up to like 10% before RR got me on my feet. By the time I reengaged, it was hopeless.

A Realm Reborn... And maybe making another empyrean for fun. The continued good times with friends is what keeps me in the game really.
