The most obvious choice for Rank 1. Choose a relic over a mythic for winners.

You all make fun of Ridill being rank 1, but just you wait and see. Someone will finally pick it as their rank 1 prize and it will force all the servers to shut down while they add this super cool OP weapon that no one else will get!

I hate to be the *** here.
but here goes:
to all you people talking about re-activating to win the bonanza, screw you people! one of you asshats will win for sure, say "wow I got a mythic lolherderhadderderpdederp" then 3 days later decide the game is boring & quit until the next bonanza. shame on you, & piss on your village. let us people that actually play win those lame statues.
geeez.

They aren't the only ones that can win rank 1, so them winning has no effect on you at all unlike last time where people would reactivate just to quit again (guilty).
Just, I see no reason why they should miss out on a contest just because they don't like the current relevant content atm. If they want to participate then save it until the game actually gets interesting again I see no reason they shouldn't try. It's based on your numbers, so if they don't participate you're still going to lose because you picked your own numbers and not them.

I guess last time some yahoo picked a relic bow, so wtf? Well, last time you answered 3 questions and were put into a pool, and then they drew 1 / 50 / 100 / 150 (not the right numbers) for rank 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 prizes and then they sent your reward to your MH.
This time is different because you're in control and not SE (except for picking the winning numbers of course).

I familiar with the old system. I've been the proud winner of nothing many, many, times. the odd ball time you're talking about was great I thought, all the anticipation with none of the moghouse clutter.

The reason I don't like the original Mog Bonanza is- what do you do if you win a R1/R2 prize on a mule? Take the gil, I guess? You can't mail a mythic between characters, unfortunately, nor a cat's eye.

I'd still pick a mythic if a mule won rank 1, just level it to 30+aby burn it to 99 so it could equip and use it for fun.
Doing nation rankup/dynamis clears/aby clears/Sea/Sky for a mule that got a mythic, and playing that charater as an 'alt' really wouldnt be that much of a time investment to get it up and running.

The active community agrees I'm sure. I still don't understand why they currently play or not is even relevant. Them entering doesn't lower your chances of winning. The only factor is what numbers you pick.
It doesn't matter if 10, 50, or 100 people win a brand new mythic then instantly quit, or if they don't enter at all. Your chances of winning remain the same depending on how many combinations you've picked on all your characters.
No one has to win rank 1, they could very well pick a combination that no one else thought to pick and no one would win rank 1.

I think he means it out of principle. Somebody wins a super rare weapon then doesn't even use it and quit again.

I don't see people raging over RL lottery winners that do stupid ***with their winnings, I don't see why it should be any different in a video game.
I guess that's just me though. *shrug*

I think what boggles my mind more than anything is that you have 100-piece currency, such as stripeshell, in the rank 1 category, which is ~57m on bismarck currently, and then in rank 2 you have cat's eye, which is ~400m. Whoever came up with this event either doesn't play the game at all, or they used a bonanza to choose the bonanza prizes, because the tiers make absolutely no sense.
And lolridill as rank one, or even worth winning at all in ANY tier.

There's at least some justification to this. The coins are tradeable/sellable. The Cat's Eye is not, even within the same account. If you don't get it on your main, it's effectively worthless (unless you want to turn a same-account mule into a powerhouse).

It's still a substantial amount of FREE GIL (or item that can be converted to gil).
I mean, I get that it's frustrating to be so close to having something like a Mythic on your main character and not be able to get it. But still, large amounts of free gil aren't something I'd complain about that much. I kinda see it like being soooo close on a number but just off. But I'd definitely rather have a mule win a bunch of gil than have my main be 1 number off on a R1/R2 prize.
There are also some items that are potentially useful on a mule. Shaper's Shawl for synthesis skill rate up, Ebisu Rod if you want to have a fishing mule, etc. Back before you could mail R/E things between characters on the same account, I won a Rank 3 where there were lousy sellable prizes so I took Trotter Boots for my mule and leveled THF up to 20 to run everywhere 12% faster (they eventually made their way to my main, and now that Fajin Boots are a thing they made their way BACK to my mule).

When I saw Ridill as a rank one prize I was like, "Oh, these must be the NA/EU prizes. Better go look for the JP prize section." >.>;;

It's still a substantial amount of FREE GIL (or item that can be converted to gil). Is it really free if you have to buy marbles?
Slycer said: They had their legal teams in each region working on the issues around the Mog Bonanza to get it resolved. They're happy to announce that they've come to a settlement on this and will be able to resume hosting the Bonanzas with the next one scheduled for either late January or February. Usual suspects will be around including Cat's Eye, AA weapons, etc. (they asked for recommendations, too), and obviously more details will be announced as it gets closer.
