Best On Asura By Job

Some players from other servers don't understand exactly WHY asura is "the worst" server, from my experience its mainly because theres a HUGE number of selfish ppl who rarely work together. I've been on different servers and everyone was EXTREMELY helpful and nice, the only way someone can get ahead in asura and NOT be a *** is have your own clique of people. Asura is "dog-eat-dog" i feel as tho the best here are the best in the game cross-server, because on a team based game we have too many solo stars. Those who have been in asura know what i'm talking about, Our stats would be much worst if it wasn't for the JP players.

those people stood out the most to me.

To use a star wars analogy... Our humble server is like Tatooine... well more like the cantina in Mos Eisley... You have a collection of truly capable cut throat people well armed and geared but would any of them work together? NO... Would people slit the throat of the guy next to them for a shiny rock or other suitable loot? Hell ya! It's no surprise that whenever b&'s hit the servers, Asura gets hit hardest...

People do band together and help each other out on a daily basis, its just that you two are blind in your own bias with this server to see it.

Maybe its because we have too many "Futchy"s and "Reece"s in the lot, who do screw people over just for what they want. Hell, we have 24/7 who makes it a business to try to MPK every claim they don't get. But people do help each other. You just don't see it.

it's not that im blind to my own bias, asura hardly ever bans together as a server... think about how many times we've lost Astral candy and then think about how long ppl wait until JP players take it back. i started 4 retrival parties myself and was sucessful once (long story)

ppl do help one another in asura but only if they're your friend, its rare for someone would help a complete stranger or "noob", i've been known to help many random ppl with things/events i don't even need to do or recieve nothing from, not even gratitude... i'll be surprised if you randomly went to the dunes and plvl a person from 10-20 and not been paid to do or know the person your plving, personally ive done that for 2 weeks studying "hate/aggro" and i got 30-40 ppl on my FL who thank me for it.

I always try to rally ppl to get things done and improve our rep as a server. The majority of ppl who play are stuck in their own "bubble" (ig/RL friends who play and/or linkshells) and are swayed to only helps those they know due to bad experiences with other players.

Our server is perfect for the saying "one bad apple spoils the bunch"
cause due to several bad players, ppl rarely help those who they dont know or become bad players by example and that is what "Spoiled" our server...

Its because we have 3 types of players on Asura:

1. Those who try to be good
2. Those who don't give a damn
3. Those who want to screw others just for the "lulz"

Its split evenly to be honest.

Its when you get those who don't give a damn (most people fall under the social LS only status) or screw others just because (like 24/7 and some members of Zealot, and Kinggalka's group) that keeps people from wanting to band together.

Which is why those who try to be good tend to gather to the same LS (like Zealot, although they do have some ***, and GovernmentAsura, CircleofKnights, Maverick, and my shell, among others that I can't think off the top of my head) and only help their same LS, because they only trust each other.

Thats what people like Futchy, Lordgenbu, Kinggalka, Vinner/Demonhunter killed on Asura. They killed the trust for people to have with others, and they did it for the "lulz"

Its called the "Shroud of Animosity" which everyone online gets to enjoy.

We all are different people outside the game than what we are inside.

What may be a very talkative, social, helping person in your linkshell could be a timid, shy, "keeps to himself" type of person to other people.

Or that *** who loves to e-sex everyone could be a more causious person than what s/he seems.

And that Mithra who shows off alot? Some dude in Canada getting his kicks that way.

You can never believe anyone on the game, unless you know them in real life.

My LS leader/wife/brother-in-law/friends and myself know each other very well, and they can probably come to my dorm room to kick my *** if I screw up. That type of relationship is rare anywhere online. People would be very lucky to have that type of relationship online.

You clearly have no idea what the word 'Animosity' means. You're looking for 'anonymity'. Hope that college thing works out for you.

That aside, how people act in game vs irl is a non issue. Only the in game persona has an effect on the in game interactions which are the root of the problem.

Honestly, I totally understand why things are the way they are. Until the quit I did everything in game with my brother and his best friend, and we didn't include many other people in what we did. A lot of people have these small group relationships, whether they be irl friends, ls mates, or just people who have bonded over vent. They know each other after awhile, have similar interests and goals, and at this point in the game they don't need new people to do events or activities that can in most cases be low manned.

Things happen this way late life cycle in any closed environment. Chances are you have a tight knit group of friends by your last year of high schools, and you have may make only a couple new relationships as opposed to the early years where you're still looking for a niche. On a server that's as relatively stagnant as Asura has been (no real best in game players or linkshells, no steady traffic of new players), there's no real surprise to it.

It's not that we (as a server) have a lack of trust for others, there's just nothing to be gained by stepping outside of your comfort zone to find out.

*Disclaimer* I only recently came back after a long hiatus from ffxi after my friends all quit, and don't have any real group of my own to run with. Just wanted to clarify that I'm not saying any of this from an elitist or insular viewpoint, merely calling it how I see it.

Kindof hard to be the best BLM if I am not fully geared yet.

But my SMN is fully geared minus Nirvana. But then again, Nirvana is just a toy to be honest. Its only good for BP:75 and the Perp-4.

I'd say Seilin on THF as for other jobs idk

and Mai i used to PL random people and help random /sh's etc but theres only so much lack of gratitude that one person can take ; ; sadly

I would be extremely surprised if there was a better THF here than Shamaya.
