100% Fresh Instal Of POL And FFXI

So tonight I was treated to my HDD making a lovely "Click click WHIRRRRRrrr.......whiRRRRRrrrRRRRR........." sound. *lower case being quieter and periods silence"
The poor thing after almost 10years of service has finally taken it's final revolution.

Good: My OS and all my important stuff are on a different HDD.
Bad: FFXI and about 100gb of Music, Movies, and Photos are now toast.
Really Good: I got a 1 TB HDD out of the deal. tyvm 24hour wal-mart.
oh yeah this was at about 2am EDT.

I'll update, for those that care, exactly how long a complete re-install of FFXI takes.

Sucks about your old HDD.
Really sucks about the FFXI reinstall.
REALLY REALLY sucks about losing your music.
But...congrats on your new TB hard drive ^^

I bought a 500gb HDD for my latest build, I was like "Pssh, I'll never fill that up, I had 300GB for YEARS!"

It's currently like 80% full >.<

If there isn't too much traffic, shouldn't take you longer than 4 hrs. I format my HDD every 6 months - year, and always have to reinstall FFXI. Usually takes about 4 hrs or so.

Its nice to start fresh. I reformat once a year and its nice to get rid of some of the rediculous junk I download.

Edit: I remember the first time I ever downloaded FFXI was back when WotG had just come out. It took me 7 hours to download all the files and finish all the updates. Now it only takes me four tops :x

If your motherboard supports it, you might wanna consider having a RAID 0 setup so you don't lose anything in case something like this happens =/
