A friend of mine brought this study to my attention because I am an avid pot smoker. Personally I'm not terribly convinced by a study with a 300 person sample size, it's a bit too small for a real definitive answer. I think this is more likely the cause for the spike in cancer over the past century.
I don't care if the study had a million people and half those smoked pot and developed testicular cancer. I'm not gonna believe that and continue to smoke. We live in an age where everything gives you cancer. People will make up anything to gain fame in the news.

If they did a study on jack danials, & even minimal amounts were difinatively proven to give me ball cancer, it's time to not be an idiot and switch to vodka.

Why are people so adverse to this study? Did any of you actually read the full text of the original published article? Do any of you know what the peer-review process is like? It's like the worst thing on the planet. Studies with poor methodology almost to virtually never make it through peer-review in respectable journals.

It's not entirely about the small numbers, it's about the way the "study" was done, there's no real evidence in that, way too many variables.
The criminalization of marijuana has nothing to do with whether people research if it's good or bad, it entirely 100% was a political decision bribed by the lobbyists who wanted it illegal, it remains illegal because of lobbyists, politics, not science.

The restrictions on human studies are incredibly strict (for obvious reasons). Reviewers familiar with the rules know that the conditions of the study are going to be less than ideal. It's just a small piece of the puzzle that may be validated/rejected at some point in the future when a more detailed study can be performed.

No, you made the point that you would ignore compelling scientific results if they existed. It's fine that you would continue to smoke; as it's your decision. But to ignore a good result and decry it as invalid because well "everything gives you cancer nowadays which is false," - is just asinine.
There's a difference between the system you described and "well this is known by the state of California to cause cancer." But maybe you're too stupid to realize.

It seriously should be common sense that irradiating your lungs with thermal radiated particles is going to cause some adverse effects on your body. If the study bothers you, but you still want to use marijuana, then just eat it or vaporize it.

Lots of ***is toxic to the body, but it manifests itself many years later. We're just not dying from dysentery and the flu beforehand. So that's why we see cancer later in life. You can't avoid all cancer causing agents, the game is to avoid as much as you can and hope you get lucky with what you can't avoid.

There's mounting evidence that recreational marijuana use doubles a man's lifetime risk for Testicular Cancer. It's not the most deadly of cancers, as long as it's detected early. However, one common treatment for "curing" the cancer is to have the tumorous testicle removed surgically.
Is one of your "boys" worth the "high"? It's up to you.
Just wanted to help dispel the myth that marijuana is somehow a "harmless" drug. Lots of pot smokers have deluded themselves into believing their nasty habit won't cause any ill health effects. And while there's no doubt that marijuana is less hazardous than cocaine, heroin, or (arguably) even drinking alcohol ... that does NOT mean that marijuana is harmless. It isn't.
