Apologies to the ladies ... this thread doesn't concern you (unless you have an adolescent son or brother who smokes pot).

There's mounting evidence that recreational marijuana use doubles a man's lifetime risk for Testicular Cancer. It's not the most deadly of cancers, as long as it's detected early. However, one common treatment for "curing" the cancer is to have the tumorous testicle removed surgically.

Is one of your "boys" worth the "high"? It's up to you.
Just wanted to help dispel the myth that marijuana is somehow a "harmless" drug. Lots of pot smokers have deluded themselves into believing their nasty habit won't cause any ill health effects. And while there's no doubt that marijuana is less hazardous than cocaine, heroin, or (arguably) even drinking alcohol ... that does NOT mean that marijuana is harmless. It isn't.

Sorry to burst your bubble, if you were riding that bubble.

Link to report.

Not too interesting until the mechanism is found. Things like this come out everyday and if we were to completely believe every correlation study ever done then we would have to assume almost any noun or verb gives us cancer.

Note: I don't smoke so I'm neutral in this.

If you want to speak in absolutes, we may as well chalk up "leaving your house" as harmful behavior. I mean, it entails the associated risk that you're just not going to be coming back, unless it's in an urn above the mantelpiece.

What is or isn't harmless is better assessed relativistically, and all studies point to the physiological and psychological effects of marijuana being fairly benign, in the same way a 6-pack of beer presents less of a threat than a teaspoon of battery acid.

For instance, it didn't find an increased risk among men with higher marijuana use, and it was relatively small.

What a conclusive study this has been.

I live literally right by a huge, sprawling refinery.

The off chance of getting nut cancer is every bit worth the smoke. If the marijuana smoke induced nut cancer doesn't get me, then the chemical plant induced super villain level mutating from the toxic air I breathe in every day will get me.

A new study has just been released showing that reading Elanabelle's posts gives you eye cancer.

These are just statistics games played by anti drug Nazi ***. The study was probably done by the DEA to have justification for spending billions of dollars arresting people for smoking weed.

Also what does the percentage double to? From 0.025 to 0.05? Give me a *** break.

Umm, this is a quote directly from this article.

"The research isn't ironclad proof that the marijuana is to blame, and even if it is, the danger isn't overwhelming."

GTFO.

She's a faculty from Keck School of Medicine. USC boasts a fairly reputable medical school and research institution. Her research will be taken seriously in biomedical science particularly with the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center attached to it. Her position as a USC assistant professor, as well has her background in urology speaks for itself.

Anyways, yah her research is interesting. This article is more extensive regarding her research btw.

Marijuana Use May Increase Risk of Testicular Cancer

We speculate that it may be acting through the endocannabinoid system—the cellular network that responds to the active ingredient in marijuana—since this system has been shown to be important in the formation of sperm” -Cortessis.

So how do you know what to put into your body? Funny you say that though because the human brain and body has cannabinoid receptors designated to reacting to the chemical in cannabis itself. CB1 found inside your brain and CB2 located all over your body. So as far as I'm concerned, we WERE indeed supposed to put this into our body.
