Is anyone else having issues logging into your SE account with a token? Been about 2-3 weeks now and I'm having issues with getting in with mine. Keeps saying the one-time password is invalid even though I'm inputting it in just fine. I'm suspecting a malfunction since I've had it ever since they decided to make them, but also thinking it might be an error on their end. Either way, been frustrating me seeing I've been obliging a friend playing XIV with him, and the story was getting a bit more interesting.

Token battery live usually 3–5 years, even that SE claims to last 10yrs.

The battery is just fine, the site just isn't wanting to accept the token's password. I've managed to get in by a chance of luck two weeks prior to this one, but when I tried this past Saturday, didn't let me in even after numerous tries. If the battery is somehow tied to whether or not the site wants to accept the password if it gets below a certain level, then I call BS on that.

desync.... Not sure if you know how it works, but if battery is dying, or if for some reason It died for a sec, it will desync.

I had the Mobile Token on WoW, and everytime I had to restart the cel, I had to sync it, but yea.. It had an option for that.

I recommend you to remove it if you can, or call SE so they can remove it.

Sounds like the case then, I sent them an email about it, just waiting on their reply. Granted I smell a chance they'll give me the runaround and deny me a chance to have them deactivate it because they don't think I'm the owner and all that BS. Guess we'll see.

There's a clock inside the token, the server clock is synchronized with it. Both the token and the server have a unique seed (identified by the barcode on the back of your token) which is what makes it unique.

If the time on the dongle desynchronize to the server time, it no longer generates the correct code for that specific date/time when you push the button. And finally, the major drain for the battery is the display, so the number of times you use the token surely affect the device life time... :)
