It feels so good having my opinion validated by sales.
I've always ranked 7>10>12>8.
I think 8 benefited from the success of 7, and was highly anticipated.
X-2: Almost ruined FF platform ttiles for me.
XIII: Ruined FF platform titles for me.
SE needs to go back to making FF titles about angry young men rebelling against society, sticking it to the man while being adored by big tiddied women like Tifa.

Final Fantasy Legend is not a Final Fantasy game (and there are 3 of them). It's part of the SaGa series and was named FF outside of Japan, mainly for marketting purposes.

Something I found personally annoying is using near identical characters to established characters already. I can percieve this as adding another element of surprise and curiosity around who that person really is. Or maybe SE just doesn't do it right I can't say(I'm thinking X-2).

And sales also validate the opinion that Justin Beiber is a better musician than Hendrix.......
Not that I disagree with your ranking too much but using the general populous as an indicator of quality is just an argument I can never let go unchallenged. It rarely represents the 'best'.

Liked 13/2 I just wish they would focus on FF15+ instead of releasing FF7: Advent of Yuffi's missing sock

i agree to an extent, i feel 13-3 can redeem 13-2 story wise, or kill it. everything about 13-2 was an improvement cept for the ending imo.
13-1 woulda be soooo sweet with the monster pet thing and jumping!

They seem too caught up in this BS formula they have been using.

A ninja version of FF dirge of cerberus would be pretty good... Could make it all About Wutai Training!
Might be too much like a wanna-be Ninja Gaiden though.
Just let me control Sephiroth and kill the emo, angst Cloud, and I'll bow down and kiss SE *** for weeks

Pretty sure there was a PS1 fighting game you could do that in :P

Was anyone disappointed with the ending of XIII btw? I know they only made XIII-2 because the engine was still made and didnt make enough back on development for it from XIII,but still, just wondering about the ending and people's views

Okay... so I am somewhere near the end (I think) of FF13, I have access to the crazy super moves each person does and I am stuck in the big field area because all the little optional mission hunt things kick my dickhole inside out.
I own an unopened copy of FF13-2 with about $40 worth of DLC ready to go.
What I would like to know, is how much am I going to be confused if I say *** it to FF13 and just jump into FF13-2 for the sake of trying to complete it before jumping into this Lightning game?
Also WTF happened to Kingdom Hearts 3... completely missed a whole console generation.

Many of the optional missions are meant to have you cleard the game before doing them since you unlock additional levels once you do that. I'm sure you can find all the CS on youtube if you just want to skip it but it shouldn't take long to finish the storyline from where you were either.

I think I am stuck on the story too though, I never did any crafting and then I finally tried to at the point where I am and I think I just ruined all of my gear -_-

Square Enix Teases More of "Final Fantasy XIII" Lightning Saga
"A storm gathers" with a reveal planned for September 1 at Shibuya event
Joseph Luster
August 22, 2012 11:15am CDT
Square Enix is teasing the next step for the story of Final Fantasy XIII's Lightning, which came to an end with May's Final Fantasy XIII-2 add-on, "Lightning Story: Requiem of the Goddess." Despite the DLC's conclusiveness, a new teaser site promises a reveal of "the new direction for the saga of key character, Lightning."
As the site says, key members of the FFXIII development team—including the Producer, Director, and Art Director—are preparing a presentation that's set to take place at a Final Fantasy 25th anniversary Gallery event in Shibuya, which will be held from August 31 through September 2.
The FFXIII presentation itself is going down on September 1, so we'll have to wait until then to find out what Square Enix has in store. Are you ready for more of the Lightning Saga?

The latest issue of the Japanese edition of Shonen Jump has treated its readers to a shot of the new look for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII's titular character.
A trailer is promised for the 2013 edition of the magazine's annual Jump Festa event.
