Square-Enix Confirms "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" Not Cancelled
Cancellation rumor quickly debunked by Square-Enix CEO Yoichi Wada

All right, Final Fantasy fans, you can go ahead and breathe a big sigh of relief. According to a statement made by Square-Enix CEO Yoichi Wada via Twitter, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still in development!
The statement came in response to last week's rumor that the game (originally announced in 2006) was being quietly cancelled to avoid bad press. Wada mentioned that he had just taken part in a meeting about the game, and remarked on the incredible quality of the in-game cityscape, saying it could make you lose your footing.
That was a pretty quick response, Square-Enix! I'll hold off on any predictions of greatness for now--Team Fortress 2 is one of the greatest games ever made, and it went through nine years of development--will Final Fantasy Versus XIII, its hilarious hair, Matrix suits and floating swords be worth the six-year wait we've been put through? |

Final Fantasy Versus XIII has not been cancelled, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada said today via Twitter. Rumors that the long awaited sister project to Final Fantasy XIII and FF Type-0 had been cancelled first surfaced late last week.
In addition to denying the rumor, Wada said that he'd just taken part in a periodic meeting for the game. He remarked that the quality of the cityscape demonstrated during the presentation could make you lose your footing. |

Seriously, move on to 15 already SE. Well they announced a few weeks ago, before someone started spreading the rumor that Versus was cancelled that they changed Versus to XV. So in essence they are working on XV.

Question is, despite the title change, will it still be a continuation of the backdrop for XIII? I for one am a bit tired of SE treating their games within their franchise like their own franchise ~_~

I don't know, I wish they'd move on from the FFXIII crap too. I just want them to release something that I don't have to force myself to like because it's different.

I might have to buy the system though, too many games coming out that I want to play.

Yeah, I always liked and appreciated the concept of youtube playthroughs and "Let's play"s.
Systems and games are expensive as it is, and the frequency of their release are utterly relentless, making the consumer ever so mindful of which title is worth picking up. At the very least they can passively experience the game from a video.
Hopefully once I get the equipment, money and patience, I'll morph my Youtube account into one of those.

So many games I've bought in the past I only ended up playing once, and if I had the option to watch playthroughs back then I would of saved my money and just watched the game instead.

I'm happy the game is coming out; I'm just completely baffled by how many diehard fans there are for a game that isn't even released yet. As far as I'm concerned, who cares until a demo is released or we have some idea what the story is going to be about. Some dude protecting the last crystal? Okay, well . . . what else?

I watch Lets Plays of games I'm only vaguely interested in to see if they're enjoyable enough to purchase and play through myself. Or I'll watch people play through games I wish I could play, but don't have the guts to. Like Dead Space. Or any Resident Evil before 4. Or any of the older Silent Hill games, besides 2.

Dead Space 2 scared me so much... I'm never going to waste my money watching a horrible "scary" movie at the theaters again. They are just too predictable, I'm not saying the games aren't... but at least you control the character.
I also am horrible at shooting games so it worked in my favor I guess for being more scary.

its a dark themed KH style RPG fighting game made by Nomura...
i don't really care what downsides it may have when it comes out, those details alone make me very interested in it XD although I'm also not nearly as critical on games/movies/media in general as most people are
