BTW it was the japanese who was complaining about NAs getting nyzul gear.
This is how this has come to light
blame the idiots who posted a video of themselves doing it. Skip to about 11:50 in the video and you clearly see them using dat mods in /party then posting it for the world to see. No doubt these people will be on the list of those investigated by the STF. This video specifically is the one JP players pointed out.
The only real complaint I have is the way they treat bugs like this.
It's almost like a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" agreement to cheat your *** off for a few months before they "fix" it.
Then once they announce they've "been made aware" of it, then you're in trouble if you haven't gotten your digs in yet.
Ah well.
It is what it is.
edit: Though I do have to say, the smug posts by people who are already done -- whether they've cheated or not -- are god damned infuriating. (cue: "u mad bro", etc.) Some of us just haven't had the time or circumstance to get finished yet, and as always, that's a punishable offense in the eyes of SE and, even more so, in the eyes of your fellow players who happen to have already achieved what you're trying to achieve.
I hope Annelisse's group yelled at her after watching that video for not bothering to pass the pouch when that was obviously what she should have been doing.
How is that a "bug" when you need 3rd party tools to exploit it?
Wait a min correct me if im wrong but isn't windower also a 3rd party tool?... Hmmm...
As I said in another thread, Windower saves the FFXI Devs work by fixing their shortcomings so they allow them to stay around. Think of Windower guys as unpaid FFXI employees (with more skill than the real ones obviously)
Anyway while lamps order was ok in Nyzul Investigation, it is completely off for Uncharted, the event is not structured in a way that makes it reasonable to have such a thing pop.

Definitely not true. See the Salvage Bans. Announcement came simultaneously with its now legendary rash of bannings, no grace period of "get your stuff and run" you mention.
The thing that annoys me is that, once they "fix" it, there will be less alexandrites on the market. It'll screw any player that's even thinking about getting a mythic. x.x

Not necessarily. More people will need to do it for longer, meaning more NMs being killed in Nyzul and more Alex on the market.
Additionally, they do play a salvage update soon, so I'm sure that will help the Alex market as well, if not to the extensive degree some of us would like.
Edit: At this point, I'm almost wondering if I shouldn't stock up on regular assault points now instead of wasting time doing Nyzul so I can wrangle the hopefully-better upgraded salvage gear. Though if it ends up like Limbus where you need the old piece first, I'd better get on collecting Skadi, because all I ever finished was Usu. ;

My group nets at least one linen pouch per set. That's 150~300 Alex per week that didn't exist before. 1 Alex from an NM or a cotton pouch from a 20/40/60/80 isn't going to compare to that – but this update also won't affect my group, but for those it will affect, that Alex will no longer be generated.
Wow SE are full of some thick or annoying people, rather than look at it and work out why players are resorting to using 3rd party tools and correcting that, they're just making it impossible to use the 3rd party tools to our advantage.
Hell it wasn't even a major thing either, it doesn't scream "Change the lamps" it's a clear sign to SE to remove the order lamps but they're intent on making this game dull and repetitive I suppose.

Uh it is a major thing, lamp dats are vital to winning are they not? I don't even understand your post honestly.
Are you an idiot? That squashes any hopes of you getting a win at all, at least before you could have leeched wins off the real players that aren't helpless and need their hand held like some of the annoying casuals on these forums.
I take back anything bad I might have ever said about you. Bravo.

As in, it's not a major exploit, but necessary due to the difficulty of the content.
Easiest and smarter way to fix it would be JUST ELIMINATE ORDER LAMP FLOORS... And as far as I know they allready tried to fix this isnt it ? Because of the dummy lamps they introduced.. so they did know about this allready...
Anyways everyone who used it is allready 15/15 so I dont think there would be a big problem.
Why the hell does this keep getting brought up? They obviously do not want Nyzul to be easier. They're doing this to keep it difficult.
The "why don't they just remove lamps instead?!" crap sounds stupider every time it's mentioned.
The "lamp order is somehow difficulty and not completely luck based!" crap sounds stupid every time it's mentioned.
We recently confirmed that there is a bug for Nyzul Isle assault where users are able to know the order of lamps via the usage of unintended exploits.
The development team is currently working to fix this as soon as possible, but please keep in mind that using third-party tools or any form of game exploit usage will not be tolerated and that we are continuously keeping track and dealing with this issue.
Finally, if you are aware of players possibly using exploits, we urge you to make a report to the Special Task Force to help facilitate our investigation.
