Just Get Stuff When We Pay For?

I was mad that SE didnt start the Gobbie giveaway stuff.

Since they did mog bonanza in JP where just Japanese could get stuff :(

Now they come out with new products which you can BUY in SE shop and get a IG item!

So now I think,the only way to get cool IG stuff,is to pay RL money .........

FFXI is now another MMO where u can buy stuff with real money and get IG item?

Since the japanese just got Moggle gear from vanafest (where they had to buy to get entrance) and the gobbie giveaway, which would be free, but is canceled,there I just see a greedy company

There's like 100,000 pieces of gear, and a dozen of them are free gifts when you buy something else from SE. Get over it.

I just wish there was more merchandise available in EU ._. there's no FFXI stuff for my region. Can only track em down on ebay from people reselling them.

You've always been able to buy real life items that came with in game codes, so I don't know what the big deal is.

I've never bought any of the stuff they'd had for sale before just to get the IG items.....but I want that damn Gobbie Gavel. I'm gonna probably end up buying the pens.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I actually bought the Sandy keychain they have there years ago for a gift. I didn't get any codes :(

I was on the SE store site last night, ready to buy some keychains and pens when I got to the check out and ran into ClickandBuy.

Anyone know if there is some way around them or alternative payment option I didn't see (I had scripts enabled for the SE Store but sometimes my browser still doesn't load images).

I would really like to pick this stuff up but have run into problems with ClickandBuy before, one of my banks won't even deal with them now.

Meh...as usual Canadians are not allowed to order from the SE shop, guess I'll have to bug one of my American friends to get me the pens and bastok keychain.

Edit: and with how broken code redemption/festive moogle is anyway whats the point? a big waste of money since you wont get the in game item anyway. (though almost $25 for 2 pens is ridiculous IMO)

I've just sent SE a message on facebook asking why EU players are being discriminated against when it comes to purchasing items from the shop. We get all of the other FF items, including 14 but not XI. Unacceptable. I hope they reply with a decent answer, rather than a generic copy and paste from their list of responses.

Its pretty much "Americans only" if you are not American you are not welcome...we already have the blame for no Golden Gobbie Bag (its been over a week, its no doubt going to get canceled) but Canadians and Europeans (and probably South America & Australia too) have been losing out on this kind of stuff for a long time, not just this game mind you. Seen a few commercials that advertize X thing at Y percent off or whatever promo, you go to the store asking about it "Sorry the offer is only for the American locations only" then WHY even advertize it?!

This is their answer for the golden gobbie bag give-away?? Pitiful, just plain pitiful.

This really doesn't have anything to do with the Golden Gobbie Giveaway, it's just stuff for sale.

I think the only item that overlapped with the giveaway is the moogle cap, unless they were giving away Nomad Moogle Cap in their top-tier packages.

They canceled it for now.. going to move it to a later date or some junk. Kali posted it in her thread.

Most of the stuff SE sells is garbage anyway so I don't see why the OP is even upset about this. Trinkets like keychains, cigarette lighters and pens are about as far from significant items as humanly possible in the grand scheme of what SE could produce if they had the ambition for it.

SE already stated legal reasons for ending the Mog Lottos but what SE typically sells doesn't upset game balance in any way. For all the trumped up coolness of Tidal Talisman and Nexus Capes, these were pretty much used to cut down 5mins of walk time from WG -> Nashmau and porting out to Tiamat. Datswap coat with some high level gear and even the aesthetic effects could be copied and used as you pleased.

If SE wants to sell items to people willing to buy them then good for them but until we see items that upset game balance you have a choice regarding participation.

This isn't replacing it, it's just giving us some stuff that was at Vana'fest.
