you can buy a pc that can play ffxi for like $100 <_<
Sylph.Kawar said: »
this is ture but it wont play it well at all.
It will run it better than any console version. Being like 10 years old, this game has pretty low requirements.

not if you have any decent size screen.

Wrecking the PS2 is dumb ? Yes, but again it's his PS2, not my PS2.
I and the other thousands of people using theirs will keep going.

To be fair, it would probably cost only around 200,000$ to give a much needed cleaning to the architecture, as I estimate it. 5 good programmers on 60k salaries for a bit above half a year should do it.

to be fair, what's making SE money?

edit: also they can do some of it in pieces, and I'll give them credit, they've fixed a few bugs.

because you didn't buy/install one evidenced by your lack of a network adapter, which is required for it.

I started this game on PS2 back in 03 and guess what 2012 I am still bumping it on the SAME PS2!!! Sure I have it installed on PC, laptop, 360, and PS3 but the reason I still play it on PS2 is because my bf bought it as a birthday present for me all those many years ago.

PS: My PS2 has been on non stop for the last 3 years and it's still working just fine.

I think it might mean a reinstall of ffxi again.

Okay homies ... For my dismay, when I finished updating my USA PS2 FFXI install (I deleted the HDL crap, ya) it grew the partition to the promissed 20 GB and update went just fine. ( mind not the foolish attempt at mimicking afro-american dialect, it's a joke... :P )

When I logged in I moved on port Bastok and tried to talk to the Escort Bastok NPC Trilok.

So old friend NPC freeze is still around, just a FYI. -_-;

So I guess, back to Windows version . :\

why? there's virtually no improvement, and FFXI ps2/ps3 version looks better on a fullscreen "monitor" than via hdmi.

I have an old Fatboy PS3 and it gives me a "need 8G space" error. Says I have 13g/55g or something like that. There is almost noting on it PS3 saves. and I even deleted the the ps2 data save (where i think my macros and map data are/were) I tried deleting it and upload from scratch twice off the old disks with no impovement.

Any ideas? Looks like the old disk I have still sections off a HDD partion that is too small for FFXI?

Funny thing is my OLD OLD PS2 still works and loaded fine.

I posted in the Bis. Thread about this, but only thing that I can think, is make sure your PS3's firmware is up to date. They issued a system update to increase the size. If that's not helping you then probably have to contact Sony support and see what they tell you. My 60GB PS3 updated just fine. The size of FFXI itself has been 22GB since Late Feb early March though.

Don't see how people can't be up to date and be online.

Also: why do they need to do that? for what purpose? unlike the PS3 it actually has an impressive game library.

4.10 was an optional update iirc. At least I assume it was from the wording that was given for it. 4.11 was released a few days ago, but I didn't get a prompt for an update on it, till I manually checked for updates this morning.

edit: derp didn't flip ah profile over lol
Edit 2: I was wrong, 4.10 was added after the change was made to the size of FFXI on the hdd. 4.11 was a few days after. I hadn't gotten prompted to update to that till early this morning when I checked for an update. (Only reason I did that was because my friend got Lolly Pop Chainsaw and was prompted to update to 4.11 from 4.00)
Can't find proof of this happening on the update notes other than post from the SE Forums that says that it happened Feb 8th or so when they released 4.10
