That would be hilarious. To add on, you can have the option to choose what NM you want to have the traits/JAs/2hrs of but look like a frog or something. I can look like a frog and have the power of a raged nidhogg lmao. It would keep the group thinking what NM's power you chose untill you start using tp moves haha.
This looks fun, they need to implement it already!

I'm really looking forward to this system. Who hasn't fought a monster and said to themselves, "Man, I wish I could do that."? Being an HNM and stomping around zones and using all of their TP moves. It sounds so cool. It's clever of them too because if they do this right and make this system desirable to do, they will have basically created nth number of "jobs" to level to get us to keep playing. I just hope SE takes Byrth's idea seriously.

Truly though... how many people think this idea is stupid?
This is the sort of resource-wasting thing, that will be a fad for a month before people realize nothing useful comes from it, that takes valuable developer contributions from the game. They want to say that identifying bard songs is more work than it's worth, but here's Pankration v2. How much effort was wasted on this? Actually Omny, Mr. negative, they said it will have very good unique rewards at Vanafest this past year.
Would be pure awesome; Especially for an LS. You all gather, click the point and *boom* one of you is Fafnir. Would be fun and insanely funny.

Quote: Monster Playing Monster Playing has the potential to add a whole new dimension of gameplay to Final Fantasy XI. This new system will allow player characters to physically transform into monsters and level up as a creature of Vana'diel. Some areas will be off-limits for stomping around as a baddie for practical reasons such as the physical size of some monster. Also, those players holding out for a true PVP system have a new way to vent their aggression. A player can fight a transformed monster-player, or both players can trasnform and battle each other as monsters. However, it won't be total chaos, as developers expect to have a system in place that requires mutual consent to fight and may even limit it to certain areas.   The Monster Playing system works like so: players start out as a basic version of the monster, and as they level up, they earn new ranks, like NM and HNM. This allows them to evolve into more powerful versions of their monster type. As a monster, players can attach abilities in the form of "knowledge," using a point system similar to Blue Mage and Blue Magic. The developers hope players will enjoy evolving and combining abilities to form their very own unique notorious monsters. With more info trickling down, this does sound exciting @_@ imagine this being a Machinima with characters being monsters and you could write any kind of story along those lines :)
Actually come to think of it, I remember that quest in windurst that with the Mithra NPC telling the children a story of talking plantoids Actually I take that back, I'd probably a worm.
