It does sound exciting but I guess they are going to nerf those HNM abilities to a degree once they are under control of a human player (and not dumb game-AI.) I would think they will put obviously powerful moves (Pyric Bulwark immunity type, Meteor or instant-death/massive-AOE type, percentage healing moves, etc.) with a high TP% and/or low-HP% requirement or some other mechanic (like charges) out of a need for balance or else they might be spammed.
It will be interesting to see how they plan out the player-grouping dynamic (like alliance vs. HNM tier will be the standard balance, party-of-6 vs. lower-level NM tier next, etc.) to maintain fair play in the system, given monster players won't be able to party up.
EDIT: Too slow, again. :p Sparthosx already got to mention the super-move spam. ^_- /sigh
EDIT 2: I wonder how the monster leveling options will be, also. Obviously there won't be any PLing and likely no GOV or FOV for monsters LOL. And I can't imagine the in-game rationale for how monster-players will get inside Abyssea or get stones ("Shinryu needs your help! He's arranging for you to come to this alternate dimension to help kill these intruders and grants you time stones!") :p Hopefully it's not a huge grind to level up monsters without the player-type leveling methods.
