To be fair, it's to allow more women to participate and in more venues, as the cultural mores (concerning "appropriate dress") are different worldwide. :p

It was the same issue that this Muslim woman faced previously while trying out for IWF weightlifting...

In that regard, if more women can compete and in more countries, then it is a plus (even if there is less to ogle for certain viewer demographics.) :p

Seems like an awful big inconvenience to me, just to have some backwards nations lose in the first rounds.
