PUP has an easy system to solo VD Kam'lanaut (requires SP1 so... yeah, every 45 mins I guess).

Fire, Thunder, Light maneuvers.
Wear Pet DD stuff on master (OD version)
Valor head, Sharp body.

Depending on the type of "wheel" he uses, there are times you might fail (OD ends with Kam still alive eh...), usually it works flawlessly. In the runs I did today so far I won with over 1,5 mins left on OD, to give an idea.
And I don't even have Xiucoatl, which I suppose would make this even faster.

I usually go /WHM for Dia2 and apply TH4 with that.

I wanna beat this fight on vd regardless of if the new drops come from it

irc light blade was blockable with shadows?

Meanwhile I'm at 5 kills on this guy, no drop whatsoever.
Normally I'd be leaning to say you have to do something outside of the fight, like trading items to a ??? or npc, but the fact there's no new dialogues mined from the patch would lead me to believe that's not the case.

Anybody got any clue so far?
I tried trading the Kam sword and shield to the new Moogle NPC in Metalworks but nothing happens.

The Master Trials version, every single move can be blocked with shadows. NIN might be ideal, and he may be vulnerable to silence (Tachi: Gekko from GKT, Levante Dagger offhand), I think he casts magic. RDM is probably another good one with Addle and enfeebles. You just have to move out of fetters when they spawn. You probably could also just helix/afk him, as he's one of the very older HTBFs, so even on VD he doesn't have a lot of health. Guessing he would die to SCH helix MB in about like 5min due to how dated he is.

Yeah...we already knew it would be related, duh? "How" was unclear. The original post did in fact say drops would not be different, which is why the initial discussion created some confusion. Before you posted that graphic.

I said they'd drop from that event 2 days before they even announced the event.
