So we already know that SE had the habit to artificially raise the pop rate of "new items" from the gobbie chest on the month they got added. This repeated on a regular pattern.
I'm making the hypothesys that SE used this approach for other things as well. Specifically I'm talking about two things connected to AMAN trove.
The rate at which used Mars Orbs are restored by the NPC.
When this was a new feature I had a *** of vouchers saved up on multiple character, and my rate of restoral was a bit lower than 10% (roughly a bit less than 1 orb out of 10 was being restored).
This was before they added the Mog Kupower that should in theory increase the conversion rate.
Now I've popped around 70 orbs for a friend, with the Kupower, and I got literally zero restores.
Of course the sample is so small that nothing can be ruled out, but considering my rate should be, if anything, slightly higher than before, I'm thinking that either this rate was artificially higher than usual on the month this feature was released, and/or the kupower is broken and it actually lowers the chance rather than raising it.
Opinions? Please tell me I've just been unlucky and I'm biased.
Edit:
I could say the same about the rate at which the rainbow chest pops on BC entry but I don't have solid numbers saved from the month it was added, so I'm not sure, and in these over 70 orbs I've seen 3 Rainbow Chests at start so I've seen a few at least, I guess.
