Random Question thread (FFXI related)

Is bg-wiki still good for info, or should I be looking at gamerescape and ffxiclopedia as well?
I prefer bg for anything newer than ~voidwatch-ish and anything before the clopedia.
Reading about staff trials and trying to get stun recast reduction for sch. Would I need lightning (Apajamas) or dark (Xsaeta) for that? From what I understood the lightning would do recast but not acc, and dark would do acc but not recast?

Stun is dark skill but lightning elemental. The staff isn't needed anymore but can still be handy. Sch main shouldn't have macc with stun and you can get a great recast with an ilvl staff.

Usually when you noclip through a wall to get to a different zoneline, either nothing will happen, or it will say something like "you do not have access to that area at this time", similar to when you try to enter an different expansion area having not purchased and installed it.

theyre worth it. i mean theyre not only worth it but would set you apart from everyone else using the deeply inferior (-30macc, -30MAB, -5FC) options.

Well my sch is still in entirely free/very cheap gear, and rings/earrings/neck are still my melee gear until I get better stuff.

The three times I went to kill her after patch I always found her up.
This is not useful information for you maybe, but it kinda hints towards a less than 24hrs respawn.

What's the most efficient way of getting Nyzul tokens? I heard it was something like floor 95 and rush floors.
What is an ideal floor count to achieve doing this? What is the ideal number of players to maximize token gain? Do people do static groups for this? What is a good strategy/methodology to follow on the different floors? Jobs, roles, etc.

SO.... Goldsmithing seems to be a valuable asset now. (even moreso when earrings are inevitably added in the future.)
But you'll also need 80 synergy... so... there's that too. (probably will want 30 fishing too so you can get the +skill up cape... good luck with that.)

The best results I've had were 3 people starting on 95. We typically left one person at the rune NNI style and the other 2 split up. No real strategy besides pay attention to objectives and know how to do lamp floors. We exited between 12 and 20 depending on our luck.

Yeah, we had a few stellar runs where we broke into the 14K range if I remember correctly, but 10K is pretty doable with just things like fillmode and legit speed tools (flee, powder boots, quencher).

Is there any possible way, through means of bootcamp or such, to run FFXI on a mac? When I mean run it on a mac, I mean to have an Apple Laptop and play FFXI on it, even though I have actually booted it up through Windows or such. My old laptop which is a PC and its on its last legs, and I'm hoping I could use my new laptop (a mac) until I can get myself a really nice PC. Is this even remotely possible or am I dreaming a little too big here?

Please don't bash people for asking questions hating someone for seeking knowledge even if you deem it a stupid thing to ask makes you look like an even bigger tool.
If your answer is on the large side either providing a link or spoilering the answer might be a good idea to help reduce the thread size.
