Once you switch nations in the past (after the first switch ever which is "free") you do lose 2 ranks.
If you switch again it's 2 more.
If you didn't recover the initially lost 2 ranks you're now at -4 ranks lost, right?

If I recall with RoV KI you can request the evaluation once per in-game Day (every hour?) instead that once every 5 earth days like it was originally.

How much Allied Notes would you have to gain to "recover" 2 lost ranks?
Is total amount of gained Allied Notes the only metric that matters, no matter how you obtain them? Or is there something else at play?

Usually 1-2 large campaign battles or high value campaign ops will be enough to increase 1 rank.

Is everything correct?

The Stygian Pact page is correct.

Unwavering Resolve is a bit off. You do not need to defeat Odin Prime 12 times in order to proceed to Stygian Pact. You just need to clear the Unwavering Resolve quest once.

The 12 times thing gives you a different title, which matters only if you want the extra title.

If you're just looking to proceed to Stygian Pact just need to have cleared the Unwavering Resolve quest.

I'd done it a couple years ago for mythic completion.

Follow the walkthrough in all the quests, ignore the notes under Unwavering Resolve.

I don't know if Odin Prime can only be done once a day, only did it the once.
The 75 Odin Prime fight is once per earth day. The “A Stygian Pact” quest does indeed require 12 completions. Unwavering resolve has dialogue differences depending on your run count https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Unwavering_Resolve/Plot_Details

You also did not do this as part of mythic completion. Einherjar odin is for that not odin prime

Just 1-2? Sounds too little, are you sure?
Isn't there, maybe hidden in some old BG discussion, an approximate threshold one should be looking up to?
I mean, if you do an evaluation and find out after that it wasn't enough to rank up is no big deal with the TVR Key item, you "only" have to wait 1 in-game day (1 hour) instead of 5 days, at the same time though I would rather go for evaluation when I can be certain, or pretty close to that, that I'm gonna rank up.
While at the same time avoiding doing "too much" and wasting time/effort when I needed much less do get my rank up.

Not sure if what I mean is clear or not °-°

You can just deny the evaluation and continue working on it, you don't lose anything. That's what I always did. Check the evaluation after every couple campaign ops.

Absolutely not worth doing campaign battles for rank ups. I did nothing but low tier, random, extremely quick campaign ops from the worst medal all the way to altana.

Just to clarify, I already built up to Altana back in the days, I simply do not remember how I did (probably just campaign battles with offensive/defensive Campaign ops?) or how long it took me.

It's just that I plan to do a couple of switches in the next week(s) and wanted to get an idea of how long it's gonna take me to recover the 2 ranks that I'm gonna lose with each nation switch.

A rank is probably about 10 minutes of campaign ops, if you take the lazy route.
