What it comes down to content wise (What matters)
Getting people to play
-Play the game we removed they reason you quit or avoided the game
getting people to pay more that play without micro transaction
- Notice people having more than 1 account
--Make it easy to have more than one acount by removing annoying parts
---2x profit per player
In the past few years they have accoplished removing the lvl cap as well as lvling all together
-1-99 is a wait period before you can use the job, it isnt a trial or a path to teach a player what the job is for. They are simply lifting the wait even more by making these faster to do
I vote they remove the lvl system and all gear that is of no use at 99
Remove the lvl req text on items so they can add another stat we actually care about becuase lvl doesnt matter any way
clearing a chunk of data, start EVERYONE at 99 and use the skill up system as a lvling system instead because thats how it is any way
And yeah people are going to hate this post, but its what it is. Cant really say it isnt true.

It really annoys me when people complain about things such as limit break being made eaiser, when I started playing about 4 years ago I made friends on my long route to 75 and joined a LS through those friends I made. A new player coming to this game wont have that experience seeing as its basically gusgen then aby leech or gtfo of the game now.
Its much much harder to be new at this game now than it was when I started, immediately you're among a tiny minority of people and the middle game content simply doesnt exist, people spend all this time talking about the glory days then shun any new blood we have coming through by expecting them to go through what we did with a tiny spec of the playerbase around them, a lot of stuff was made easier but if that attracts new players to an old game like this then so be it, theres still plenty of fun stuff to do and new content planned, eg legion and new VW, testimonies being a higher drop helps someone else and does not affect me in any way whatsoever, thats great news.
I have my own mule/friends account that they just started, I have loads of jobs levelled and 2 RL friends that play and its bloody hard enough for me to help them level up in the game nevermind if I started from scratch with no friends or gil, theres little to no equipment availible to a newbie immediately forcing them to look 'gimp' I cant even help my friend have good gear off the AH with a small fortune behind me.
All in all anything to help the newer players standing around shouting in vain for hours is very welcome in my opinion, I love this game and I'd like to see it continue with a good playerbase for aslong as possible ^^.

You absolutely can say that it's not true. Like this: That's not true.
While yes, there are a lot of people that can not/will not invest 2005 amounts of time/effort into ffxi. Swell. At the same time, there are people who would. Even more, there are people that fall somewhere in between "old ffxi gave too much to very few people, and too little to too many," and "easy mode."
You might have seen these people. For example, this thread has a great deal of them. And there are a great deal of similar "dumbing down" threads with similarly upset people.
If you think that anything pre-99 is useless, you're completely mistaken. What's more, if you think that people don't have any kinds of sentimental attachment to some gear they got way back when, you're also mistaken. You're mistaken when you think that everybody leeches every job. And if you think that SE would consider removing the level requirement on gear and replacing it another stat on the thousands of existing pieces of gear... well, at the very least you're wrong about that, too.
Basically, you're pretty much wrong.
No. Not everyone, or anything close, are dreaming of an ffxi that operates like the test server - talk to a moogle, get your gear. Not everyone entirely glosses over any content that came out before 2010. Lots of people want the best gear they can obtain, but they want to actually get.

For the rest of us who have been here 5-10 years

With how many people dual wielding character in this forum I dnt think you saw the point of my post. Money. Nothing to do with what you listed here.
All the people posting on this forum also have lvl 99 jobs more than likely. Not bothering checking
Would rather they fix the Xbox lag/dc issue than work on things such as this. They arnt hard, most can be solod, and only need 1 friend to do them. If you dnt have ONE friend WILLING to help, well. Idk how SE can help you with that one.

People need to accept that limit breaks don't exist to make sure that they never have to deal with n00bs.

While I'm glad on a personal level that I beat this fight with various PT set ups a buncha times when it was at it's "hardest", I'm also glad for players that have been stuck here for whatever reason will be able to get through this choke point and continue enjoying the game.

Then I absolutely missed your point.
Please explain to me how either removing any level restrictions on gear and giving it another stat will entice people to play (and therefore pay for) ffxi.
Please also explain how the time and effort into making such changes for hundreds (or thousands?) of pieces of gear is going to MAKE SE money, rather than cost them.
While you're at it, please explain your other option of completely removing alll <99 gear and how it will provide entertainment for either new players, or old ones.
Then, you can explain what any of the new people are going to do during their "waiting period" to 99. With no gear to wear, and nothing required of them to get level 99, what will they do? I suppose SE could play ffxiv commercials, but what is your idea of what they will be doing? (Aside from looking for a different game to play.)
Thanks.

Ok
How many jobs do people take to 99 in abyssea or from75 to 99 in abyssea
Do they buy gear for lvl 1-99? Or justt 75-99?
Does the game content start at lvl 1-75 or does it staert at 99?
Can people do VW as a lvl 75?
Did you know that FFXXI game engine limits gear to only have room for X lins of Data?
If players can wear all geat at lvl 1 (Which would be 99) And Had to skill up to cap to be any good (Which we do after burns) What would change from how things are now, and how they would be if the lvl system was removed but skill ups still existed?
All that would change is you could get invites
which doesnt matter because people w/o skilled stuff get invites any way

I have a suggestion for those who are bitching about this change. Start a new character on a different server, and don't meet up with anybody you know through any forums. Pretend you are a new player when it comes to needing help getting LB items, or xp parties, or Empy armor. Shout for a shell or from people you meet in a party.
Then let us know how much these "dumbing down" changes still sucks because the game is too easy.

only really need help for the 1st two.
Unless they make those mobs like lvl 20 (since no one 50 will be skilled up)
still going to have to shout

Testimony drop rates will be increased.
This is SO long overdue. Getting BLU, COR, and PUP testimonies was just awful and is one of many things that screwed over anyone who was leveling one of the three as their first job.
Horrid drop rates exclusively from monsters that check IT to a level 70, and on top of that BLU (not familiar with the other two) had one of the hardest and most random LB5 fights. I recall a friend going 0/20+, giving up, and leveling something else. :/

I think making Beyond Infinity easier is pretty stupid. Its as if SE is admitting that the new player base has become dumbed down, so in turn lets dumb down the game too!

Go shout for a group to do this right now and let me know what you think afterwards.
