Hey all

Just bought a dual action logitech gamepad, issue im having is when running through windower the buttons are scrambled is there a way to setup button configuration to make triggers roll up macro books etc? maybe an alternative driver? Have previously been using a wired xbox controller but since switching to vista i can't install XBCD drivers which meant i couldn't use macro book which did my head in so here i am...

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!!

Too late to turn back to XP really, I run through bootcamp on a macbook and it was more than a headache trying to get trackerpaf etc etc etc to work via drivers n ***. Anyway..

I have the the controller on D for direct input? have tried on Xinput too but it just doesnt respond at all if thats the case... I have the controller working aside from being able to rotate camera with right analog stick and how scrambled all the buttons are like the trigger is auto run and first person view etc i'm just hoping theres someone out there who plays ffxi via windower with this controller.

Make sure you restart the game completely after switching the switch, that fixed it for me!

Sorry I can't directly help you with your current situation but I'd like to suggest you get a Logitech Rumblepad 2. It's plug and play for FFXI. The buttons are all correct and the joysticks are actually sensitive. No reconfiguring is required.

I do use windower
I don't use that awful profiler, for anything...
The triggers act just like L2 and R2 for the old logitech controllers / ps2
Yes, triggers bring up macro book

My switch is set to... D

If you try to change it while the game is running, it won't work.

Log out of the game, switch it to D, go to controller editor thing that SE provides (program file folder under US tools) and reset all the buttons to what they were with the new controller. Then log back in and you should be good to go.

I was very confused before too, but it should work. Good luck!

I love that model as well, but unfortunately they do not sell them anymore and Logitech has stopped supporting the product as well.

Very sad when I found out :\

I've bought many off Ebay. In fact I have two arriving any day now. I've always bought these refurbs and never once had a problem with a controller. After a year or two when the "Confirm" button starts wearing out I just buy another.

Here's some:

I would try to go with D, it works perfect with that.

Try setting it to D then restart your computer then go into ffxi config and try to do it then?

don't know, would never buy a mac as there's no point.

yeah you want D, then go in the ffxi config and set to default, should work just like that, if not go to your control panel> game controls (or w/e it's called anymore) and see if the test mode will detect all the buttons in windows, if it does it's just an xi setting, if not then you need to play with drivers.

see that you have it fixed now, kay

(hold on, doesn't bootcamp let you install more than 1 version of windows to multiboot?) I'm told parralels works well for emulation though...

vista is riddled with so many issues, you are using the pol for vista/7 right?

all the logitech are if you use the D input mode. ( at least the several versions I have)
