"vegans have more stamina both in and out of the bedroom" BS. Take a vegan, vs someone on a real (meat/fish/nut based) protein diet that does decent cardio work and see who has more stamina.

I don't think "nut based" means what you think it does, if you think it's not vegan.
Someone that gets protein from meat, fish and nut sources is not following vegan.

Nuts were merely a secondary mention of protein sources for both vegan and non-vegan diets. No need to single out it's mention so seriously.

Except the way he worded it was wrong, which is why I jokingly pointed it out. It only became "serious" when it went over his head entirely.

Nuts, also known as Rocky Mountain Oysters, are a source of protein that I don't think vegans eat.

On a side note, what idiot drew some sort of imaginary correlation that a vegan diet had direct involvement to either increased libido (for either sex), or drive for sexual activity? If this is made solely on the basis for sources of aphrodisiacs, then you would find significantly more limitations on a vegan diet than an omnivorous one.

I would never date a vegan, or even a vegetarian. Not because of their diet, they can eat whatever they bloody well please. But because I know they'd try to force it into being MY diet, too. Lolnope!

Just like why I wouldn't date a strongly religious person. I don't care that they are religious, but I guarantee they aren't going to respect that I'm not.

Just like why I wouldn't date a very strongly political person. I don't mind chatting politics once in awhile, but I've known people who just throw an absolute fit if you aren't in 'their' political party. No thanks.

I suppose that makes me quite picky when it comes to mates. Oh well. xD

But on Peta itself, warning! Massive rant incoming.

Also, this is informative, you should watch it! It's long :-( but worth it.

Not always true... some people are vegan or vegetarian because of their own personal decisions, but really don't force it on others. My wife was a vegetarian when we started dating. She never had an issue with me eating meat in front of her, and I never tried to force her to eat meat.

Eventually, she did succumb to the amazing power that is chicken (and beef products later on). If she hadn't, it wouldn't have changed anything between us... it was just a decision she made.

I'm on the same page as you here. Actually I suppose I'm on the same page with the first part I quoted, if the person was really fanatical about being a vegan or vegetarian. I'm sure my wife and I never would have worked out if I had given her a hard time about not eating meat, or if she had given me a hard time any time I did.

True, I don't. Then again it's probably because I'm a homosexual. Which may or may not be directly related to the lack of meat and animal products in my diet. You may be onto something.

To be fair, humans wouldn't be humans at all if it weren't for the meat based diet filled with protein and amino acids promote brain development which would eventually make the complex, standing, walking, talking, thinking creatures we are today. If our homo-sapien, homo-erectus ancestors hadn't sunk their teeth into meat all those eons ago, we'd literally be down to a crawl. PETA's philosophy is a fallacy based on the mere existence of humans (including themselves) today.

Yes! Salmon is my favorite, then poultry, then deer/elk, then beef. I just can't get enough of salmon, it's so tasty. Pork is in there somewhere too, I love sausage and ribs but not so much bacon. Don't vote me off the island for not adoring bacon! It's meh-ok, just like beef is meh-ok, it just doesn't have that delicious crumbled breakfast sausage taste.

@ Keriam:

Half the point of Peta is trying to make people believe the same way they do. Did you watch any of the video that I posted? At all? Are you seriously trying to say that people rolling around in fake blood on the sidewalks, screeching like banshees into megaphones at everyone walking by, picketing and vandalizing others' property, and blowing up places that don't agree with them is NOT forcibly trying to make people do what they want? And I'm not even going to get into all the ***they do of taking very young children aside and telling them that McDonald's tortures chickens. My god, of all the things to tell a five year old. Extremely inappropriate.

Having a balanced diet without meat is a stretch. It obviously can be done because people do it. But it takes a lot of food juggling and supplements to accomplish and still get all the vitamins, nutrients, protein, and amino acids that people need.

Having a failing is ok. Everyone does make mistakes. However, it's quite laughable (to me) when someone makes a huge stinking ruckus about animal rights, then turns around and does exactly what they preach against. There's a word for that, I think it's hypocrite. >.>

Yes, if you'd rather see a human die than an animal, then I do think you are crazy. Sorry. I would think that animal testing is pretty much the only way (again, did you even watch the video? It directly addresses this!) unless you plan to test these things on celery and tomatoes. As for human testing vs. animal testing, animals are not people and do not have the same rights as people. Period. That being said, lots of folks do donate their bodies to science after their death, voluntarily, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. People also donate their blood to save others' lives all the time, donate marrow, donate plasma to make medicine. It's cute how the things that humans voluntarily do to help medicine is so conveniently overlooked.

When 'good ideas' are forced on others by way of arson, firebombing, teaching children how to make molotov cocktails, vandalizing peoples' homes and property, no. They are no longer 'good' by any definition. And if they were good ideas then these extremes wouldn't even be needed to make people listen. There's a reason that Peta has to resort to acts of terrorism, and it's because they take their 'good ideas' way too far to be good anymore. Not being cruel to animals? Good. All the bullcrap that Peta tries to tack onto the end of that? NOT EFFING GOOD.

Peta can go on thinking whatever illogical and fairy-tale things they want. It's no worries to me. But I absolutely draw the line at their terrorist actions. And they ARE domestic terrorists, like it or not.

Animal testing saves lives. I'm sorry, but it does. In fact, Peta has people in the upper levels running it who use medicine that saved their own lives that were tested on animals. Thousands of human lives have been saved by animal testing. Sad? Yes. But sorry, I'd rather see a rat die than someone's child, sister, father, or cousin.

Maybe I'm "crazy" to you, but I'd rather see that child, sister, father, or cousin die. But, just to be clear, can someone name a time that animal testing has saved lives in which it is proven that the animal testing was THE ONLY WAY?

How would you feel if we had to do involuntary human testing to "save lives?" Does your opinion change?

if a superior species was testing on us to save their own lives then well

my opinion wouldn't matter

personally I think an animal's life isn't equal to a humans

which is why I eat bacon

so I don't really find your argument to be relevant

Maybe this is just my experience but everyone I've met and known who has been a vegan has actually had less energy then a similar vegitarian or omnivore.

I went to a program for almost a month that led me to take on a vegan lifestyle and they warn you about not having as much energy and that you shouldn't be too active. they even crafted exercise routines around that.

I can't say that its the same for everyone but that's just been my experience.

To me this ad is really no different from many others. Someone wants to convince you to live a certain way so it benefits their ideals/profit margins. I really doubt they actually care about the people its marketed towards lol.

Oh and before anyone makes the implication that I've just said it is okay to do anything to animals don't be mistaken

Like beating an animal to death for fun or enjoyment is just stupid.
Or torturing it by slowly killing it over the course of a few days

I just don't think things like that are right regardless of what it is done to
