Got my Somen +1 today, this is probably the best standard TP set now:

Standard is what most people can reach. Well above average is what you have there. Though I think the math was done, and Usukane Gote +1 can kinda sorta replace tenryu. It's like -1% haste in lue of more DA I think. It was tossed around on the same thread. Partial bonuses and all or some jazz.

The same gear 99 one. Somebody tossed the idea of the gote, then duplus came up and it got dragged into a grip discussion. The gote kinda got thrown to the wayside, but I think the point is still pretty valid.

Not for MNK since it'd put me at 24%, and that set used Phos +1 and Duplus anyways. Not that much easier to get than Tekko +1, if at all.

Of course, will other inferior gloves with 4% haste still be an option? Like Brego or Miodio?

I think its more common because more people understand its the best in slot for a majority of TPing situations for all the jobs that can use it. Instead of making excuses likes its rare/expensive/"hard-to-get", people who specialize in those jobs aim to get it first before other pieces. That's just my 2 cents

Alright then, if it's 3, then it's 3. Doesn't say 2 pieces = 3% haste, if it does, oh well.
On the other hand, this set only looses by 4 dps on the spreadsheet vs tenryu/buffet while buffs are down. It also only looses by 2.1 dps while buffs are up.

I'm just kiddin with ya. You can put the real weapon in by doing an item search for Verethragna, then clicking on the appropriate level weapon to go to it's page. On that page (and this applies to every piece of gear on this website), there is an option to add it to an item set of your choice.

What I should have said was that occasionally I had Usu+1 beating tekko+1, assuming the set bonus is 3% per piece. I was just messing around in Motenten's spreadsheet. I don't really understand the math behind it so if you feel like verifying or debunking you can mess around with it yourself.
As for the inference that I'm buttmad... lol. I have neither piece, I was just trying to contribute. If bragging about a piece you just called standard makes you feel good then please, continue.

It's not 3% per piece, it's 3% for two pieces. We don't know if it's 6% for three pieces, and even if it was, that's only 24% haste. And 1% haste is always gonna be better than 1% DA, ignoring the fact my gloves have more STR and more Attack. Even if your set capped haste, it would still be worse unless I had both capped attack and capped fSTR, which isn't that likely with how little STR I tp in now.

What are people doing for merits. I've been shuffling mine around a bit since I wanted 5/5 formless for the cerbs in salvage. currently sitting at 5/5 formless and invigorate. Thinking of dropping invigorate for chiblast 5/5 since I have healer mules. Input from other mnks?

optimal TP set for MNK.
