It makes more sense then.
Your standard NA VW PUG can expect a 0-50% success rate at Rex. I think the main issue is that NA BLMs don't zerg hard enough.

I've never won a Botulus that Chainspells more than once. Typical setup for the groups I've gone with has been something like:
1) DD party, ideally DRK, WAR, MNK, COR, BRD, SMN
2) Melee Proc Party, ideally WAR, SAM, DRG, COR, WHM, BRD
3) Magic/Ranged Proc Party, ideally RNG, BLM/SCH, BLM/DRK, RDM, COR, NIN
DD party never switches to take care of weaknesses unless it is in a weapon type that they are proficient in. For instance, GA would be both-WARs doing it. GS would be the DRK, Scythe would be the DRK, H2H would be the Monk. NIN has Katana and Ninjutsu. SAM has GKT. DRG has PLM. Second-WAR has anything he can hold that isn't covered elsewhere.
Magic/Ranged proc party has an obvious job. Do as much damage as you can while proccing when appropriate. It is important for melee to be honest about their accuracy. Typically even high-Acc DDs require Pizza to cap Acc on Botulus.
They changed proc behavior on Botulus last patch to make him easier, so if your experiences were mostly pre-patch then he's considerably easier now. You can force NQ staggers to upgrade to HQ staggers if they're done while a monster is casting or TPing, but this wasn't the case for Botulus or Ig-Alima until the last patch. That made it a lot harder, because there were many fewer full-temp restores.

1 stagger and and you get another fools. Don't use fools unless you see chainspell and you should be fine. I personally haven't seen a mnk on botolus, or rng.

I'm not sure there are 18 dancers across all servers I'd take to Rex.

Budget Exenterator
Avoids expensive stuff and voidwatch drops.
Lolyi's gorget doesn't count as a voidwatch drop.

Eurus' ledelsens if you don't need that DEX.
Or Areion's Gamashes when the STR may be required~?

Eurus is the same price as Scopuli on my server, but I think I may change it to Lithe or Areion.
Areion probably beats Lithe.

Actually wait, I take it back, Lithe should win.
5 3 2.5 <---> 6
5 2.5 <---> 3
2.5 <--> 1.75
0 <--> 0.92
Lithe are slightly better.

Would I be a bad person if I use this supernal knife in Abyssea?
I don't have Twash*, my 2 usual daggers are STR and AGI Thokchas.
By Fupafighters 2012-03-07 19:41:47
