[Dev] Reducing Spawn Timer for all HNM's

So quick question, are you opposed to any change towards the remaining HNMs or just opposed to making them forced pop?
Personally, I feel SE should just make the remaining HNMs 2 hour repops and be done with it. As you said, none of them (save Tiamat, and there's still some decent gil to be made from SW/DI if you consistently camp them) really drop much of value anymore. I would say force pop would be my preferred method, but after what happened with the ground kings (which I supported at first, until I found out the droprates on HQ pops were ***), I don't think they should try that again.
The only thing I would welcome (and would have welcomed a looooong time ago) would be a change to Tiamat's actual window. I honestly don't see any point whatsoever in changing the repop time on either of the remaining HNMs.
Giving SW and DI a 2 hour repop time would most likely quickly kill what little market is left for those drops. Pop conditions and such are far too fickle on those 2 mobs.

I dont understand why botting is so accepted practice when it comes to claiming NMS but when I try to bot the ***out of farming for gil to buy HNM drops, people get all bent out of shape.

You seem to misunderstand, it's not accepted, it's more that people realise nothing will come from complaining about it.

It provided more enjoyment and amusement than most of this game has been capable of since. In terms of "big kills", please find something, recently, that can compare to the first NA kill of something on your server. First NA Tiamat on mine was um, 6 hrs? Two shells teamed up, unbelievable amounts of fun... for a wyrm horn. The vent/ts (Whatever we used then) conversations were hysterical. There was always the stereotypical angry person making every little detail known, exploding heads over thfs feeding tp, etc. These "difficult 5 minute fights" that come out every update aren't really anything like that anymore... (Granted this is a lot to do with knowledge, gear, playerbase, and level progression, however, with what we had at our disposal back then, this can be argued either way)
I understand some people personally hated hnm.... then you should have stayed away from it.

Easy fix. Install Crystenne's idea into one server for all the 'you dont deserve the same gear as me, i am so much better than you' or the 'i prefer 1% drop rates so i can spend years for a piece of equipment i might win a lot on' people. And let the rest of the world evolve.

Better idea yet, times should change only if you actually have killed tiamat and other said hnms before 2008-09 (give some room there) then you can have the shorter time spawns. If not then you get no spawn ever!

Adventurers! Fear no longer! After considering your feedback, the development team have come to the agreement that the community at large expects four things from their adventures in Vana'diel:
1) Rare mobs and scarce items that justify the crushing fact that they spent several years camping the same mob
2) A monopoly on said drops that lead to a falsified sense of superiority over other players
3) A sense of inane competition between linkshells in order to forge fierce rivalries over strong friendships
4) A large dose of drama and trash talking, since Call of Duty multiplayer isn't the only place this kind of thing belongs
In reponse to this feedback, we are happy to announce the introduction of a brand new server - Fafhogg!
The rules of this server will be slightly different to other servers, but here is a taste of what's to come!
All NMs, including those in Abyssea, will become Timed Spawn and have their spawn timers increased.
*Empyrean Weapon mobs will be given a 48-72 hour respawn timer. Seal and KI mobs will be given a 21-24 hour respawn timer.
*You can totally dust off those bots now and be on call 24/7 again, guys!
In accordance with this change, Empyean weapon/armour upgrade items will no longer be an 100% drop rate.
*Empyrean gear and weapons should only be for the elite and completely dedicated, after all!
A new chat feature, /troll, will be added. This feature will allow inter-linkshell drama to be broadcast from any zone directly into Jeuno.
*Because everyone cares so much about how that linkshell you don't like wiped to Tiamat, they really do!
All gear obtained from mobs on this server will be labelled with the "Bling" tag. Underneath each item will be a detailed statistical analysis of how the item was obtained. Statistics shown will include the number of players MPKed to get claim, Linkshells that wiped to the NM previously, and the name of the LS officer you sucked up to in order to get lotting rights!
*You know, because you want to be a special snowflake!
These changes will be implemented onto the test server sometime next week, so please look forward to it!

So many gimps cry over this bc they can't claim, i liked HNM for the sole reason of getting stuff no one else will have w/o buying it off me. If theres profit to be made off HNM that i can monopolize it makes sense to do so. Hence wopaco/Nirvana/Vos crushed the competition out and made millions upon millions in gil/items, we are all human and everyone that has a chance to excel will take that opportunity to exploit others. Its pretty lol most of you sit there and QQ about getting outclaimed but we all know if you were the 1 hoarding said HNM you would love it. Only needed 2 things for HNM if you were serious about it,1 being determination, 2 being loyal friends who are determined. You do not need a bot or extreme hours to claim. Ppl who cry bot have no proof anyway, only make assumptions, they're just trying to justify why they weren't good enough to claim.

I rly missed alot of old lsmate cause of this stupid abyssea, but ill never forget the time i spent with them and the time we spent togheter making other ls cry claiming Faffhogg, KB, Aspid every day for months and months!

| Spawn timer reduction for Gulool Ja Ja, Gurfurlur the Menacing, and Medusa you say? In addition to these three baddies, we are actually looking into reducing the spawn time for all HNMs! The idea is to give you all more opportunities to fight these elusive, notorious enemies. However, please understand that by eliminating the “time cost” associated with them, it will result in other types of costs to arise (for example, having to obtain triggers from battlefields to spawn Fafnir/Behemoth/Adamantoise). |
