I think this might be an upgrade, but as I don't have them I can't do any testing yet:

Yeah, VW hates me but I've seen a few drop to others.

3% WS damage should put it past my Armada breeches. Ofcourse fSTR isn't exactly easy to cap now on DRK with a rank 25 weapon.

That's a pretty nice set. It does seem like it can use some attack tho, but surprisingly there are quite a bit of INT gears with great offense stats that DRK can use.

If you are using the attack they pull ahead of bale. If you aren't bale are better. Maybe LR up/down set.

<if BuffActive="Aftermath">
<equip when="Engaged|Aftercast" set="AftermathTP" />
</if>
<else>
<equip when="Engaged|Aftercast" set="TP" />
</else>

Att4 TPbonus25

TPbonus or Refresh are the only earrings worth it unless you are a career MNK.

Maybe+1 legs for lower end content for AM set. Hard to work a 5hit and move stuff around. I'm parsing below capped acc on some VW mobs (mainly t6) so bale would be way better.

WS wise the +1 legs will probably be the best, i'll run numbers when i get a chance.

I was debating those also for cata. Should beat bale easily, but vs. ogier's legs? That seems like a pretty close battle to me.

Also, got dilaram's sollerets yesterday and have seen good numbers with LR down, parsing higher than bale at least in that situation.

2da vs 4str 15acc. Definitely not easily beating Bale.

Harder content its Ogrie > Bale+2 > Avant+1

Fodder its Ogrie > Avant+1 = Bale (very slight edge to avant)

Can you post your parse? And how do you determine in the parse if LR is up/down?

Probably about time to just start considering it the 25% STR mod that it is.

But it's a nice extra +2.4% on Entropy between AF refreshes.

Still no reason to pick anything but TP Bonus or Refresh, in any context.

Of course, I just saw the ws set and the thread title and immediately thought that it was a cata set advocating moonshade earring without reading the context.

Yeah i'll see about getting parses posted up. I just parse instances seperately when testing. I'll stop parser when lr falls before I ws again if i'm testing LR up sets, and if i'm testing lr down sets I just do several fights w/o LR. I'll dig through parse files and get em' posted when i get a chance.

I see a lot of sets being posted, which is helpfull.
But if you could prioritize what to focus on, what would it be?
I'm not "one with the math" and most of my other DD jobs don't have a 40% &40% mod on the ws.
I'm finding it very difficult to balance atk/int&agi/str.
My cato's are everywhere from 700's to 3ks in abyssea. Outside I'm cruising steadily at 1.2k.
this is what I use at the moment.

please feel free to critique

Grim +1 and Twilight are basically identical from what I remember. Motenten's spreadsheets may initially show otherwise but if you look at the gear pages you'll notice that both the head and body, along with a few other pieces, don't have their stats fully filled in.

Just downloaded this to check, and yeah, they're missing loads of stats.
Grim+1 and Twilight seem pretty much identical
