It might've been you that told me this before Kalila, but how do I "remove" statuses from StatusTimer? I personally only ever used StatusTimer for a Weakened timer.

EDIT: nvm! Found my old StatusData file and it has some of them in it XD

For anyone who wants to know, it's "buff,id,-1"

Copy Image,446,-1
Copy Image,445,-1
Copy Image,444,-1
Copy Image,66,-1

There is no need to go through every status individually and remove timers from specific ones, when you can simply move the timer above the icons.

I put a border around the number on utsusemi icon so that it can be seen even at blight background. There is a tutorial somewhere that show you how to edit the icon. Try google for it :)

Okay, I got a few PM's to clarify what to do exactly, so I'll post in detail.

To place the XI View files in your installation folder follow these steps:

  1. Download XI View

  2. After you download XI View, find the location of the downloaded file. It should be named XI View V1.10.7z (if you don't have file extensions enabled you will not see the .7z and it will just be XI View V1.10).

  3. Now locate your FINAL FANTASY XI installation folder:

    Normal Installation
    32-bit: C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\
    64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\

    Steam Installation
    32-bit: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ffxi\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\
    64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ffxi\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\

  4. Now that you know both locations go to the location of XI View V1.10.7z and open it up with WinRAR:

  5. When you open it you should see this:

  6. Open up the folder XI View V1.10, you should see this:

If you don't know your resolution then look below. What does your game screen (NOT YOUR MONITOR) look like?

    4×3

    16×9

  7. When you know which folder you should use, open it up and you should see this inside:

  8. Now, leave the window (don't close it) and go back to your FINAL FANTASY XI installation folder. You should see something like this (if sorted by name):

  9. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO REPLACE EVERYTHING (TARGET CURSOR, NPC/PC NAMES, MENU/TEXT FONT, ECT) THEN SKIP TO STEP 16.

  10. Now bring up WinRAR and click-and-hold the ROM folder in WinRAR then drag-and-drop it into the FINAL FANTASY XI folder like this:

YOU DO NOT WANT TO DRAG THIS INTO ANY OF THE FOLDERS IN THE "FINAL FANTASY XI" FOLDER. MAKE SURE YOU DRAG IT INTO AN EMPTY SPACE OR BELOW THE FOLDERS SO YOU DON'T PUT IT INSIDE THE WRONG FOLDER.

  11. After you drop the ROM folder into the FINAL FANTASY XI folder you should get a notification message like this:

  12. Click Yes.

  13. Make sure you check "Do this for all current items (4 found)" then click Yes.

  14. Again, make sure you check "Do this for the next 37 conflicts" and then click "Move and Replace".

  15. After you let your computer do some processing work you're done! Log into the game and when you get to the Accept/Decline screen you should notice an immediate change.

YOU'RE DONE, DON'T KEEP GOING UNLESS YOU SKIPPED TO THIS PART!

  16. If you do not want to replace everything, then you have some work/thinking to do. Lucky for you I did MOST of the work for you! Remember step 7? No? Well here:

  17. Alright, you should see this inside the ROM folder in WinRAR:

  18. Now I'm going to list out all the DAT files below and tell you what they are so you have some knowledge of what they are and if you want to use them or not:

    • 0
      • 12.DAT - Status Icons (Japanese)
      • [SKIP] There are other files but these Menu Themes (Menu > Config > Windows > Window Type). Here is a guide for you directly from the XI View Page:

BEFORE YOU LOOK, I SUGGEST NOT TO REPLACE WINDOW TYPE #1. FFXI USES THIS DURING YOUR PLAYER SELECTION SCREEN AND IF YOU CHANGE IT CHANCES ARE IT WILL LOOK HORRIBLE.

The picture should tell it all, but if you don't get it yet the red lines are pointing to the DAT files associated to each Window Type #. If you want to replace, say, #8 you would replace 21.DAT under ROM\0 (you should be in this folder)

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RESTART FOR THE WINDOW THEME TO CHANGE, JUST SWAP BETWEEN TWO WINDOW TYPE #'s TO SEE THE CHANGE

You have a selection of 16 themes to choose from which all include an image file to preview what they look like before you replace the DAT file. Speaking of which, never actually replace the file (although the original files are all available to you in the rar, but if you want to keep YOUR original then you want to back it up).

To back up a file you can simply edit the name and add .BACKUP at the end of the extension (only if you have extensions enabled in folder options!!). It will tell you it isn't a valid extension, just hit okay. You aren't using this file anyways it is simply backing it up. BTW you don't have to name it .BACKUP, you could do something like .PONIES or .WATER, what ever you want really as long as you don't replace the file.

Now, you backed up 21.DAT (or what ever # you chose, for the rest of my "guide" I guess I'm using 21) so pick the window theme you want and rename it to 21.DAT to replace (or take the spot of what once was 21). When you log back into the game and set the Window Type to #8 you should see your work be rewarded.

For your convenience I took the time to show you what each looks like:

      • window-0000-2-XIV_Dark:
      • window-0000-XIV_Light:
      • window-0001-dark_gray_gradient_01:
      • window-0002-blue_striped_opaque_01:
      • window-0003-dark_gray_gradient_02 (Slightly Brighter):
      • window-0004-dark_blue_gradient_01:
      • window-0005-dark_blue_gradient_02 (Slightly Brighter):
      • window-0006-black_gradient_01:
      • window-0007-light_gray_gradient_01:
      • window-0008-light_gray_gradient_02 (Slightly Brighter):
      • window-0009-gray_tile_01:
      • window-0010-gray_tile_02 (Rotated):
      • window-0011-blue_striped_01:
      • window-0012-SE_gray_stone_transparent_01:
      • window-0013-SE_brown_stone_transparent_01:
      • window-0014-SE_gray_stone_transparent_02 (Transparent Version of Window Type #4):
To replace these files with the original just name it, in this case, 21.DAT then switch to a different Window Type and back to the one your changing and it should be different.

There are many other user made window themes, you can see what is available on the windower website at DAT Modifications. If anyone else would like to provide their own they can in the topic, but I'm only providing what is included with the XI Vision rar.

    • 91
      • 15.DAT - Font, Cursor, Player Icons
    • 119
      • 51.DAT - Same deal as 91\15.DAT
      • 57.DAT - Status Icons (English)
    • 176
      • 75.DAT - Same deal as 91\15.DAT & 119\51.DAT
      • 107.DAT - Status Icons (German)
    • 178
      • 14.DAT - Same deal as 91\15.DAT & 119\51.DAT & 176\75.DAT
      • 46.DAT - Status Icons (French)

  19. The "!Other" Folder

    • Font
      • I might come back later and post what the different fonts look like, but for now I'm just too tired. You have to use a program provided with the rar (it includes a readme) to change it. Probably is very easy to do, I just don't want to do it right now D:

    • Original Utsusemi Icon
      • This just provides the original Icon (SE's) instead of the big bold numbers (like in the OP).

    • XIV Theme
      • This is basically the same thing except it includes the XIV Window Theme as well as the cursor in the game.

  20. Twenty felt left out, so it got a line.

That really is it, it also includes backup files of the latest update (that affects XI View) in case you delete the file. It doesn't have every DAT, so if you delete something random chances are it isn't there and you'll have to recover it from POL file scan or resinstall FFXI.

And sorry to the people who asked for help, who are probably asleep by now. You can read all of this when you get up if you want to >.>;

Hi, i know this command too but i'm a bit curious if anyone found a way to save these settings.
I tried it with the .txt but could not figure out how to do this ; ; .

Any Idea?

Your init.txt file. It is in your windower folder under scripts, you should of been in this file at least once before.

Under your plugins do

wait 5

statustimer setpos 145 46

The thing is though, I don't want the timers on at all. I think they're ugly and they don't really ever help me - atm I don't even load StatusTimer when Windower starts.

I rebuff before my buffs wear and I use Recast for any JA durations, so I only really wanted StatusTimer to keep track of my Weakened status.

Removing timers from everything except for a 5min weakness timer seems silly, but it's your subscription; play as you see fit.

I don't find the timers "ugly", nor pretty for that matter, but they're there as standard now, so I adopt a different play/macro style, to the extent that, without the plugin, I'd feel lost. It's like wearing a suit and forgetting your belt - you may not necessarily need the belt, but you feel under-dressed without.

I don't have much if any intention nor indeed inclination to try any of this XI View business, but +1 for the extent of your effort.

You need to extract the archive, it should have a ROM folder inside it.
