Has anyone firgured out the diffrences between then yet? Such as Elshena/Saltena or the other two.
Iv heard many theories suchs as job lvl, above or below certin skill lvls, offencive skill vs defencive skills. Has anyone actuly tested them out and found out the real diffrence?
Saltena is definitely offensive weapon skill up food. I am using it atm on my mule to skill up Axe, and it makes a very noticeable difference. I don't have the coveted data to show the difference in rate, but just eyeballing it I get skill ups A LOT more often when I have eaten this. His skill level is about 255 now. I am unaware of anyone posting data about skill level being a factor on this food, but it wouldn't surprise me. I have a friend who is skilling up above 330 and says this food doesn't help him get skill ups. Might just be his bad luck though, I haven't tried it on higher level weapon skills of my own yet.
don't forget about kitron macaron (success rate+, skill up rate +, HQ rate -) and coconut rusk (success rate-, skillup rate -, HQ rate+)!
.... I hate that I forgot about these. Did a bunch of crafting yesterday...
Your telling me.. been trying to finish my last subcraft and only reasonable synth was a 10lvl gap. And since its a sub i havnt gotten +1 equips yet. Somthing like this might actuly help some'
Kitrons/Rusks help reduce the number of breaks when you're synthing. Doesn't help fishing whatsoever i'm afraid ; ;
Saddens me also as i'm working on fishing myself.... when i can be bothered.
well.. Between lightsday, diretion, adv sup, artisans advantage, and this food, my sythns wernt half bad lol. And got up to 58.5 so far. So i love it'
I hadnt heard anyhting about food for crafting before.. how did that manage to slip past me?
It wasnt the info i was looking for when i started the thread, but probably the best info i could get lol.
Tried the Montagna yesterday skilling up Polearm. Went from 110 to 190 in about an hour. I was using quint spear which makes a bit of a difference for skill ups, but even so, the rate gain was more per hit than when I was skilling up dual wielded axes without food.

Ironic considering Montagna is currently accepted to work only at 300+ skill.

Using quint spear i went from 116 skill to almost 300 in like 2 hours, doubt the food had anything to do with it. :P

Erm, what job were you on? Your base combat skill rating is going to affect how often you receive skill ups.
I saw a noticeable increase in skillup values using montagna to skillup shield from 320ish to cap. I also feel there was a rate increase that I saw more with my parry skill than shield. It only took 5 of them to cap shield though, so I am impressed.
My previous experiences with eleshena skillup food -even for club and greatsword, which are in the mid 200s- have been very poor.
I worded it wrong; I meant that I noticed less skill ups with Mont than with Elshena. My parrying is 303 but I also have it merited... could be the reason. I'll test more once it hits "real" 300.
