I posted a suggestion for the lodestone to have AH/Ward search/tracking functionality on the lodestone similar to our sister-site FFXIAH.com

I feel this would greatly help would the economy OUTSIDE of Uldah and help putting down a place on how much a item is worth.

For example: "Alright, I'll try to sale some of this stuff I got from gathering." *use the current item search in Limsa* "Oh....nothing on the market......3k each I guess??" *

I'm not sure how would Scragg feel if they used his design but I think it would be a GREAT addition to the lodestone or in-game if possible.

They do plan to add AH functionality to the wards with price history and purchasing directly from the search menu...I think they even mentioned 1.20 as when they hope to have it out. A system like ffxiah would work if those things get put in.

Price history is a nightmare IMO. All it does is increase inflation by constantly pushing up prices. Everytime an item is unavailable, the next seller to come along looks at the price history and adds a hefty chunk on top in the hope that someone is desperate enough to pay it. If successful, the next sellers increase their prices in the hope of making more and so it spirals.

I'm much happier the way things are. Stuff sells quickly for a fair price and the economy is pretty stable.

In general, price history is fantastic for slow-selling items or items with limited availability since it gives a general idea of what people would pay for it when it is available for purchase.

Personally, I would like to see some prices that people paid for something so that I could price it in a similar range for the highest probability that it would be sold.

also:

In general, price history is terrible for fast-selling items since it brings undercutting to a whole new level, but since that already happens with the search function, price history implementation would be null on this subject.

tl;dr - Price history would be a fantastic addition to the game and if you don't want to pay a hefty price for an item, make friends or wait for an undercutter :)

a FFXIAH type site/system would only work with the 1.20 market ward changes if they used a seperate server that isn't protected so external sites could read infomation from it.

Only problem with that is people can DDoS the server, if you've played FFXI you'll remember all those times the /search and AH went down because of it.
