First and foremost this is a strictly theoretical. I will be organizing my ideas through my theories but in essence this is one major theory. About me: I have played and completed every Final Fantasy more than once (some more than 4 times).

Major points i will be address are:
Cid
Dissidia
Final Fantasy IV: After Years
Final Fantasy IV: After Years Crystal
Example of the link they all share

I will be referring to the Lufians a lot so for short hand i'll call them Luf

Cid

Final Fantasy Dissidia

Final Fantasy IV: After Years

Final Fantasy IV: After Years Crystals

How does it all link up?

Well what does that mean?

The Number Theory:

The Endless Battle example:

I know my delivery of the information is bad but its the best i could muster this has wrecked my brain for too many hours now xD

Oddly enough I have to agree and disagree at the same time.

While your points are valid for the most part and could build a very interesting convo, there was one FF where Cid was a playable character. that would be where I couldn't agree for every FF.

Myself like a lot of other people did like FF7 but its not my favorite. a lot of ppl started playing with 7 myself I started with FF1, but US3 is still my fav FF because of the story line.

Maybe the FF that you can have Cid as a playable character was designed by a diff supervisor. who wanted Cid to be something more then just a storyline character?

But Cid is also in the off spin FF's or a relative of Cid like the Wii's chocobo tales.

The one thing that is always static if FF's is Airships, Chocobo's, Masamune (Which the name slighly changes but is always there in appearance at a minimum, Auron for example), Crystals of some sort, and CID!! I have always wondered why is in every FF or FF Spin of the Squaresoft, Square, Square Enix, ect has produced. I've always wondered what the importance of Cid was to be honest. But come to think of it. There was one Version that Cid was much much older then normal I think it was FF3 (True version) for the DS but don't hold me too that

FFX-2 is a dream Cid had that he'd rather not discuss.

(Started out as a wet dream, turned into blue balls about halfway through, then back again with the special dress-spheres unlocked...

... Then to something from a 13 year old's fanfiction at the end.)

That was not a "guy"... It was the A.I. which managed the MAXTRIX but to be able to interact with the people "living" in it, the computer created an "human" image for reflecting itself inside the MATRIX as if it was another human being.

I can see the parallel if you think about Final Fantasy in that way and remember that it's a computer game ...

Also if you think that in a sense, every time you reboot your computer with different software it looks like a completely different/new world (even with applications and OS, let alone games) the whole thing of keeping only some elements of a plot into the sequels make a lot of sense ...

Now, trying to bind everything together into a single story is a HUGE mistake.

Try to not read too deep into it or else you might get disappointed with the Final Fantasy franchise... lol

Edited the OP so the spoilers will work. Please do not bypass the limit with the DIV code. I'm still waiting on feedback from Scragg on if that is a bug.

Yup, it's pretty cool.

There are lots of theories on the fact that the Ancients may in fact be the people from Spira.

I think you guys are taking it too literally when he says that pyreflies and the lifestream are the "same." I'm pretty sure he means they just serve the same function and that the Shinra character in FFX-2 is just a throw-away/inside joke for fans of FF.

Next you'll be saying FF1 and FF9 are sequels/prequels because of Garland..

Well the only things square has confirmed is that actually Shinra was the creator of Mako energy using energies from the farplane (which is the lifestream) And that in fact the reason the company is called 'Shinra' is from the original creator from FFX-2.

Everything else is speculation.

Also the whole FFI and FFIX thing are completely different seeing as FFIX was originally not going to be a numbered title and just be a homage to the FF series in general.

In a sense, the FF games all do connect. However I believe they are all separate worlds with one thing connecting them. This is known as the Rift. The Rift can also be known by many names.

Example: The Void, X/N-Zone, and most recently noted The Walk of Echoes.

Now seeing if these worlds where created by one person is hard to say.

On a side note: Its also possible FFXI was where Shinryu was born from. I do believe Shinryu is the same in every game. A dragon that roams the Rift. The only time his creation was ever talked about was in FFXI in Abyssea.

Isn't really just like comic books (or FFXI for that matter), where there are infinite worlds/dimensions/universes with common themes and varying degrees of differences?

SE just likes to screw with it a bit, and who wouldn't, to keep us guessing and entertained.
