ZAM's Spine-tingling Pumpkin Carving Contest Carves Anew! (10/13/2011)
It's time to sharpen your knives, gather your tools, and prepare the design for your pumpkin masterpiece because the ZAM Pumpkin Carving Contest has returned! Celebrating its fifth year in a row, it's the perfect chance for adventurers the world over to show off their love for Vana'diel – in pumpkin form!
Those whose gourds are judged to be top of the crop can expect some truly fabulous prizes to come their way – including an epic Shadow Lord statue awarded for the top jack-o'-lantern! So what are you waiting for? Procure a pumpkin to serve as the canvas for your masterpiece, grab your utensils from the kitchen drawer, and get carving!
Adventurers the world over are eligible to participate, and it matters not a smidgen how many carving hours they have under their belts. We look forward to seeing entries from all of you!
Proceed to ZAM to learn more about the event!
* Entries must be submitted by Friday, October 29 at 3:00 P.M. (PDT).
* Please read the rules and submission guidelines carefully, and don't forget to attach a picture of your pumpkin with your entry. |

2011 FFXI Pumpkin Carving Contest
Halloween is just around the corner and the MHMU has likely already begun their preparations for the spookiest and creepiest time of year. In order to do our part to get everyone into the spirit of things, the ZAM Pumpkin Carving Contest is back for its fifth year! Get your knives and scrapers ready in what should be a fun and exciting chance to display both your creativity and love for Vana'diel!
The Prizes
Grand Prize: Shadow Lord Statue, 3 months ZAM premium membership
First Place: FINAL FANTASY XI Original Soundtrack -PLUS- album, 1 month ZAM premium membership
Second Place: FINAL FANTASY XI Mascot Strap, 1 month ZAM premium membership
How to Enter
Entries should be emailed to ffxiteam@allakhazam.com. LIMIT ONE APPROVED ENTRY PER PERSON. For tips on photographing your pumpkin, visit Pumpkin Carving 101. Please include all of the following:
Full Name
Character Name
ZAM Username (if applicable)
E-mail address
Server Name
Country of Residence
At least one photo of pumpkin in light
At least one photo of pumpkin lit in the dark
Images can and will be re-sized for contest display. Please do not submit cropped and re-sized images.
Entry Confirmation
Contestants that submit entries approved for the contest will receive an entry number. Contestants that have their entries rejected may submit another entry for consideration. If confirmation is not received within 24 hours, please email to inquire about your entry.
The Rules
Please read the official rules of the contest.
All pumpkin entries must be carved by the entrant and must have been carved in October 2011.
No offensive or pornographic entries will be accepted. All entries must be "Safe for Work".
Entries must be Final Fantasy XI related.
Entries must be submitted between October 10 and October 29, 2011. The cutoff time for submission is 6 PM EDT.
Limit of ONE full-sized pumpkin per entry. Up to two miniature pumpkins may be used as needed for additional creative effort.
Limit one entry per person.
Have fun!
This year, the ZAM team will be choosing 25 finalists from all pumpkins submitted to move on to a final judging phase where ZAM staff will determine the winning entries.
The 25 finalists will be posted on October 30th to showcase the talent of our community. The winner will be announced on October 31, 2011.
ZAM.com reserves the right to disqualify any entry based on photographic quality, pumpkin theme, or any other reason that may deem the entry as offensive or unacceptable. Winner(s) may be asked to provide additional photographs of the winning pumpkin(s) for verification purposes.
