PS3 Release Date Confirmed?

Well I was on Amazon and decided to click FFXIV for shits and giggles and I noticed something I had not yet seen before. Is this new news or do I belong on the short bus?

Many retailers have an est release date, but they're all wrong until official notice from SE, which Yoshi-P said stay tuned for another time in the Live Interview when it was brought up.

i cant wait for ps3 release. i have alot of friends who want to play but their pc isnt good enough to play this game. i wonder if there will be a xbox 360 release also? anybody know?

Doubt it will be out for Xbox, I recall hearing/reading issues regarding SE wanting people to play it without XBOX live gold but Microsoft wanted to make it a Gold feature.

It's hilarious how they market the rendered CGI movies as "game screenshots"

Well that sucks that there might not be an xbox release. more of my friends have xbox then ps3. they might just have to get a ps3 i guess lol. it would be alot cheaper then buying a desktop to play this game.

Cheaper than an X-box also, I'm aware of the $199 Xbox but it only has a 4GB HDD, you would need an upgrade; having said that, Ps3 @ 250 would be cheaper.

GT5 changed their release date dozens of time before actually releasing it.

ff14 on ps3 would prolly look better too.

any game looks better on PC assuming you have a good PC. but in my case PS3 will be my favorite when its out XD laptop overheats and not in position to get a nice desktop.

but as far as release dates, amazon, gamestop, and so on will only know when SE tells them. until then they just basically toss out random guesses, i remember when advent children was still in the works, amazon had release date listed as 2009. there will probably be a lot of chatter when a ps3 release date has been announced, but SE is being very cautious and probably wont even consider the release until they are SURE the game can be a success. ps3 launch will basically be their chance at a re-release for the game

Yeah, it was postponed on the ps3 "indefinitely." That was almost a year ago now.

SE stated a long time ago that the PS3 release would be when they get the game to a point they feel is adequate. Which means when they hit the point they can start charging.

Ironic how this is started moments before SE finally confirms a PS3 Release date range.

Yeah, I withdraw my statement, but I would like it to go on record that either they were very lucky in guessing (whether it be a shot in the dark or an informed, calculated guess) or they were told before the general public was. That's not usually the case.

Its been pretty much confirmed as April 2013, and the beta date is September/November 2012.

I'm glad it's gonna take at least a year before we get the ps3 version, succesfull relaunch "Yes please". The future of this game looks glorious.
