I often wonder whether or not, if we hooked up an EKG and watched 200 people play five hours of an MMO, if we would see the part of the brain responsible for empathy and sympathy stimulated. I then go on to suspect that we wouldn't and begin to wonder if these games are killing empathetic responses in our generation.
Then I read this.
From March 23rd to August 31st, 2011, Square Enix collected donations of Square Enix Crysta to help provide aid to the areas affected by the Tohoku earthquake. We are proud to announce that a total of 7,281,788 yen.
Hats off to those who donated and man, I am glad to say that I'm a part of a gamerbase that is capable of this.
Stay classy, FF peeps.
