Guillotine Gimpiness! Help Me Out!

Whatever I do I can't seem to pull out a decent guillotine for the life of me ; ;

I'm lost... Idc if it makes me look noobish or what but if anyone could have a look at this and possibly suggest ways to up my guillotine output I'd be thrilled... I've been through forums and f.a.q.s and people report similar builds to this doing awesome damage. Idk what I'm doin wrong ; ;

Can you tell us about how much you doing with guillotine instead of just saying its gimp

Ummmmmm have you checked your accuracy? In all seriousness DRK's seem to miss about 4/5 swings from guillotine if not all. A swap to some accuracy gear might make a huge difference. Just a thought.

Did temenos NW. tonight.... Sams, Drgs, and DRKs were doin 1000+ WS mine were lucky to hit 500.

Also I believe most of the pieces I mentioned have an ACC bunus of 1 type or another. And I have no issues with Acc when TPing.

check out the gear of the drks that are hiting them 1000+ ws and compare the gear to see what ur missing that they have

i know mnd takes some sort of place in guillotine, so may be some modifiers? :X idk

At what TP are you WSing at? Im no drk but this may differ from the other drks as well.

100%, 200%, 300%... seems to make little difference if none at all.

Usually sub sam, came /nin for this event, but it always like this for me. As for merits idk what the other guys got.

Usual DRK gear... DEX+, STR+, ATT+, murder, madness, the good stuff...

but despite all that, mine hits for 800 - 1050 dmg... I'm pretty sure its my ACC.

Pole Grip, make sure you're eating meat, and buffs. Guillotine is hugely dependent on accuracy and attack. Keep Brutal on~

Black Cuisses over Exorcist Hose.

Hecatomb Leggings, Amir Boots or Chaos Sollerets +1 are good choices.

Long term improvements would be Fire Bomblet and err... some very hard pieces to get like Ebody/Ace's Helm/Hecatomb Cap etc.

I have several Guillotine macros depending on situation, could be a good idea to look into the same.

Your build is sensible though and shows that you know what you're doing.

I suggest acc then work your way down till you find a happy medium.

Go as far as acc food? i would def try pizza, if you think you need it.

And yeah, I would very much steer away from sushi on DRK as much as you can. Pizza or meat onry; multihits rely far too much on attack to neglect (unless you're using Greatsword where you still shouldn't try to aim to eat sushi but it doesn't matter -as- much)!

Don't take Optical Hat off for anything which isn't Ace's/Heca/Ares though unless you're very sure about it :O just look at your gear and work out which pieces give the best offensive benefit for the least accuracy lost (though it seems like you're doing this anyway).

Using this assessment, Warwolf Belt is very poor for Guillotine as is Wyvern Helm (which I see a lot of DRKs using for it <_<).

Get a Snow Gorget when you can as well (it's not too hard to farm and you have Sea :D); it's 10acc over all 4 hits of Guillotine and a ~11.4% damage increase on the first hit so very hefty.

Merit diabolic eye fully to increase your accuracy even more, it's godly at mamool ja camp.

Despite DRK having the second highest melee ACC in the game, that does not guarantee hits. But the reason you're not doing much damage is specifically BECAUSE you're putting too much emphasis on ACC. Accuracy is only going to get you so far. You'll get more use out of, say, a WS that hits 3 times for 300 damage each hit as opposed to a WS that hits 4 times for 150 damage each hit.

In other words, watch how much TP you get back from Guillotine. 17 damage is the norm for all four hits on anything other than /SAM, and I believe 20 for when you're subbing SAM. If it that amount of TP, and you still do low damage, you're putting too much emphasis on ACC and less on damage.
