Im looking to come to FFXIV and was wondering hwhich server is best 1 to join. Was wondering if you guys could plz list some possitives and negatives about the servers you guys are on so i can make an informed choice on which one would be best suited for a newbie to join.

Find the one with the biggest population and hang around Ul'dah
Kashuan is low population, I think Trabia has a decent size but I honestly can't say for sure come to Rabanastre. less is more obv.
Stay away from Wutai :)

On Rabanastre Semper Fi, Blue Garter, Perfect Insanity and Shinra have all done 5 chest runs! If i missed your ls sowwy! ^^

Fabul is the best.. cuz I'm there. Muhahaha. It's also low population (if not the lowest) tho and that's always a good thing.

wow limited info thus far :(. So far Lindblum and Wutai are definate No's and Palamecia is not looking good..
I hate Asura its mainly been populated with no so decent people and if Sorrowscry is from Asura and only could post what he did Id suspect hes 1 of those.. Im mainly looking for a friendly, honest population (I know thats hard to find but one can hope) where new people can join and fluorish.lol Yes, im an idealist .lol Anyway ty to those who replied with imfornative posts if i were you i would just pick a server and start playing. the faster you the faster you can rank up

Positives: i'm there! :D Negitives: everything else. Seriously, there is the good, bad, and ugly in every server. Just pic an ff town you liked and roll with it. Have fun! figaro, because no one ever says you should come here lol
If you check out fantaji.com you'll find a flourishing Besaid server. Lot's of new people apparently. Trabia is pretty good in terms of drama -_- lots of stuff to read when you are crafting ^^;

Come to Lindblum and try it out, we have decent people around that are friendly and some helpful players.
I say pick based on the name you like and don't go to the most populated server or least populated.
So basically don't go to Selbina. Otherwise, you're probably fine. Rabanastre, Trabia, Wutai, or Besaid.
All have pretty active communities. On Rabanastre most people are in Uldah. Dunno if thats the same for other servers. I like Rabanastre though. Am glad I picked it.
Rabanastre was the coolest city in any FF series - all you need to know.

... honestly every server is the best, have unique players, good, bad + do not forget an annoying player ><! recommended not to choose an overpopulation server...
