Granted, not everyone deserves to be beaten up, but otakus and weeaboos sure as hell do.
edit: mainly the latter obviously.

I prefer Coke over Pepsi but I can drink Pepsi if it's extremely cold, otherwise it just tastes weird to me, especially the aftertaste.

Sakaguchi went on to found Mistwalker. I haven't really been following them. Most of the more famous people can probably just work on contract, or even already were (Amano, Nomura, Uematsu)
When you get down to battle designers and such I think few people care at that point ..

This thread is now a coke vs pepsi thread.
Coke for me!
And I can't stand weeaboos who try to include broken japanese into what they say/type. it's horrible.

It really depends on my mood. Pepsi made the best soda product ever though: Mountain Dew.

The closest you could translate it to is "it is" or something close to that.

While I consider myself a man who is absolutely fascinated with Japanese pop culture and the language, you sure as hell won't ever see me speaking that way for kicks. It just looks silly.
If I ever AM speaking that way its because I'm actually trying to communicate with someone who doesn't know a lick of English, and not in romanji. (Or doesn't communicate well via auto-trans in the game at least.)

It's the verb "to be".. more or less. Like many things in Japanese, the translation doesn't entirely coincide with European languages. I'm not sure why weeaboos misuse it so much. Then again, most of them have no idea how to use ANY language, apparently.

Then again, most of them have no idea how to use ANY language, apparently. Step 1, let them introduce themselves using broken japanese/english sentences
Step 2, say a simple cuss phrase in japanese back at them
Step 3, ???
Step 4, PROFIT

Attaching "desu" to everything is just annoying.

It's just insulting and silly.

Even then though, I use EXTREMELY simple phrases to try and communicate. I don't try and make it look like I fluently speak it...I know my limits.

My gf's best friend is Japanese, born there, her mom's from there, etc, etc, and when I'm at her house or around her in general, I don't even talk about anime or jrpgs or anything like that. Just to avoid looking stupid.

It looks like a Japanese closet threw up on the poor thing.
The extent of my anime/japanese-linked clothing is a KON shirt, (I really like bears) and a black FMA shirt that has the watch logo in front and the date they burned their house down on the back.
Though admittedly I have thought about getting a Kon hat. >_>;

Quote: Earlier today, it was discovered that Square Enix had filed for a trademark of the name "Square" which cites the many methods of video game publishing we see in the video game industry today. It seems Square Enix is pursuing a re-branding effort as "Square". Thanks to users on the web, including deanbmmv of Reddit, we've discovered that the Square trademark looks very similar in description to the trademarking of Square Enix.
"Square" Trademark: Computer game software; video game software; sound recordings in the form of optical discs, magnetic discs and semiconductor ROMs featuring music and fictional stories; audio visual recordings in the form of optical discs, magnetic discs and semiconductor ROMs featuring music and animated fictional stories; prerecorded compact discs featuring music; prerecorded video discs featuring music and animated fictional stories; mouse pads; straps for cellular phones; video game controllers; downloadable musical sound recordings; downloadable ring tones for mobile phones; downloadable wallpaper graphics for mobile phones; downloadable electronic publications in the nature of magazines, journals and newsletters in the field of computer games and video games. Providing on-line computer games; providing on-line video games; providing information on computer game strategies and video game strategies via computer networks and global communication networks; providing information on entertainment in the field of computer games, video games, card games, animated cartoons, comics, novels and magazines; providing on-line non-downloadable comics; providing on-line non-downloadable magazines, journals and newsletters in the field of computer games, video games, cartoons and general entertainment.
Square Enix spawned from a company merger between Square Soft, and Enix. Square Enix also owns Taito Corporation (Eidos), which has been compiled into Square Enix Europe.
Perhaps a future press release will clarify this recent trademark filing, until then keep calling them Sqeenix
Link.
Interesting..
