Lots of players are saying they are a member of a linkshell that they aren't. I don't think it should be allowed if it is something that can be prevented easily.
Is there something that can be done about this using the information from the FFXI Community Profiles?

I think the answer is nope, only solution would be to get rid of the LS thing altogether. However its a handy feature and really if your looking at someones profile and know there not part of that LS what harm is there, really? theres nothing in it for them at all. Just take these things with a grain of salt.
