Got update but now can't connect? :( POL-0206
Anyone else able to download the update and getting POL-0206 error after the auto-restart? This is getting annoying :( Just trying to see if I'm alone in this error or if a lot of people are getting it, first time I've ever had connection issues to POL when internet was fine in other programs.
Im in the same boat, try to connect, and no dice.

iirc SE's getting rid of POL all together. So that's probably why you can't connect to POL.
Could have something to do with the FFXI server Maint? But yea, won't let me log in either...
The only thread i could find was a few years old, but it was widespread at that time too. Maybe update was available before the servers are back up, idk? I don't honestly remember when the maint was supposed to be over due to that "GTFO IN 10 MINUTES!!!!1111lol" that caused me to log out.
You will not be able to connect until the maintenance is done, PlayOnline one finishing at the same time as FFXI one.
Everything should be working in 2h21. It has another 3 hours and 30minutes left on it without any extentions.

The FFXIV launcher at least gives a server-maint warning/explanation right now...sadly POL doesn't. It just kicks you out.

The players posting in that thread were also ftwing about logging in during maint. There is always a news up on the support website telling you the exact time everything is expected to work. Also, if there is any extention, they inform of it on the same website.
So if you can't connect to POL/FFXI, check http://support.eu.square-enix.com/ . Wasnt aware of the "POL/SERVER MAINTENANCE" all i knew was update, got home, tried to log, couldnt get in, went to www.playonline.com (not the US portal, just the root page) and it wouldnt load so i had some thought of a maintenance but as i couldnt get to that page, i didnt know for sure there was a maintenance still going on. Thats my story and im sticking to it.

All I am stating is that if the first end-user operational step is to "log in" to POL, but the user is then re-directed to an update server, to which their computer communicates to receive an update to POL, which then loads and installs on their client, which then does not allow them to "log in" to POL afterwards, it *might be seen* as reasonable to be confused (as is the case in the OP.) :p If you want to quibble over whether the update server is or isn't physically or virtually separate from the POL server, and therefore the user's client never "logs in" to POL proper as an operational step, or can do that same operation of updating by other means, that's fine I guess...those distinctions are there and do matter to an extent, I suppose.
