i never once told anyone in this thread that they're idiots or anything. i try to be somewhat respectable, and the way i talk to people here is the same way i would talk to people face to face.

but some of these people, it makes me wonder if they would talk like that to others if they had a face instead of a fake name on a forum to look at. because no matter how smart you are, that's pretty classless if they do.

In the US, the atheist is an unknown and like all unknowns, people fear and behave irrationally whenever the word is brought up.

Many people cannot even comprehend the idea of people who don't believe in gods so they simply lump these people in as devil worshipers, people who reject God to sin uncontrollably or people who do not deserve to live because they reject God.

Most of these same people have never even bothered to take up the Bible and read the entirety of the text either. Their fervent beliefs are rooted in emotional attachments to community, parents or family and fertilized with copious amounts of fire and brimstone.

You may call it being a "pussy" but thousands have died through the ages for not believing in God and still more have been ostracized, denied employment and driven into the ground at every turn. So, for many the Internet is an escape in which they can speak openly without fear of waking up to your house being firebombed or getting death threats in the mail.

To this day, in certain parts of the US attempting to question the Bible is met with uncontrollable rage, violence and scorn. Ever been to the Bible Belt? Or perhaps you live there.

People that don't take the time to communicate like an adult, yet still find the need to inform everyone else on their opinion on a subject (especially when their opinion is drivel) don't deserve to be treated with respect.

If a person cuts you off, flip them off. If a person hits you in a bar, break your beer bottle over their head and smack them around. If a person comes into a 15 page atheism/theism thread and writes a near unreadable trash post that has the intellectual qualities of a 7 year old, call them on it and hope their shame causes them to not make the same mistake in the future.
