If you're gonna be a ***, at least have the courtesy to be correct when it comes to the most basic of details.
1) Heaven's Tower is in Windurst Walls, not Windurst Waters.
2) Windurst Woods is the "hub" of Windurst, not Windurst Waters.
I can zone out of the Mog House in Windurst Walls, activate Flee, and still not reach Heaven's Tower after 45 seconds. When I had my HP in Windurst Woods pre-Horst, I would specifically set my subjob to BLM whenever I had business in Windurst Walls.
It really does take that long to walk around in that zone. It's circular design does not make for speedy travel.
EDIT: Added map!

Even walking from the Windurst Waters Mog House is ridiculous. It's not much different from walking from the Outpost NPC's old location from the Port Windurst MH. Oh, except that players have to zone 2-3 times to get to the Abyssea NPCs.
Before the Outpost NPC was moved outside of the Mog House, that little bastaru sat by the gates at B-5/6.

I think Tweeek just meant that it's closer to Heaven's Tower by exiting Windurst Waters MH than going out from Woods. I actually use that route myself. Still kinda crappy though, considering they put the other NPCs in the ports.

It's still no different than the ridiculously long walk from the Port Windurst MH to the Outpost NPC's old location.
Oh, except that now you have to zone a few times as well.

Yeah, hopefully they'll move it, since not many people are liking it.

To get anything done I'll have to be in PJ anyway and it will still be full of afk people.

I don't see what the big deal is. I will be setting my HP back to Windy, and will walk to Heaven's Tower. If I'm bored, then I will Qufim OP and run to PJ to see what kind of shouts are going on.

Yah everyone going to still afk in PJ, but people from basty and sandy can set HP in home nation and not have to deal with clusters of afk people. Sadly for people in windy you don't really get a good option, so you might as well do what I've been saying for years and just burn windy to the ground.

Are you joking? Learn your home nation before you start crying and trying to call people ***.
From Windy Waters MH you are very close to Windy Walls zone which is VERY close to Heaven's Tower.
The "hub" being in Port Windy you said the hub is woods? why? everyone HPs in Port Windy because of the OP NPC never heard that maybe back in like 2004 it was... regardless it has nothing to do with anything because after completing the Flower Child quest you can zone into your MH and zone out to Waters Waters run 2 feet zone into Windy Walls and you are very close to the Heaven's Tower entrance from that Windy Walls zone.
I can draw little arrows if it would help you.. personally if my nation was Windy I would HP in Waters MH and either go in my MH (exit out to Port) if I need to use OP or run from MH to Walls -> Heaven Tower.
It's not like people from Sandy won't be zoning in between N. Sandy and Port Sandy using MH exit quest from the Abyssea NPC and the OP NPC we still get zone time and the distance will probably comparable (unless lol the Abyssea NPC in Heavens Tower isn't near the entrance)
The biggest problem with people complaining about Windy is because they don't think about the most logical / quickest way to get from point A to B. You can get anywhere pretty quickly (quicker than Bastok / slower than Sandy) imo while utilizing the warp NPCs ( Komulili, Machu Kuchu, Pattsu Yabittsu, Tonana) along with the MH exit quest you can get places quick.
P.S. It would NEVER make sense to HP or zone out in Walls you're better off zoning out of Woods and running North into the zone if you needed to hit that AH or if you needed to hit up Komulili for a warp to Port, running from Wall MH would is ridiculously long.

While in theory you're right, in practice basty is by far faster to get to 95% of the NPC's you'd be going to since the zones on a whole in basty are smaller, and by extension the NPC are all closer to each other. The farthest you have to go is to the gates for a warp scroll. In most cases you can get to the AH/OP/DB/Choco within seconds from the MH in mines, my longest run in basty would be to the WG warp, and seriously who goes to WG anymore?

Guess they really were aiming to relieve congestion by putting these NPCs in Bum F Egypt. Too bad it's counter productive if it becomes an annoying task to visit the alternatives.

I find it productive if you have an LS for Abyssea. you do your own thing in your home nation or HP is your home nation. Via LS chat, say "time for aby" or whatnot, and BAM you HP and have access to porter moogles, storage, and tele to any aby zone. seems better (especially if you have gear in storage)

Lakshmi.Aurilius said: The only way to rid congestion in popular areas would be to add some type of world chat that would allow users to see event related shouts no matter where they were. Until something like that happens, and it never will, certain zones will always be a huge hub for people. It just makes it easier to get people via shouts if everyone is in the same zone.
I've always wished for some sort of global chat line or something of the like, just standing around waiting for shouts no matter what zone it would be just drives me nuts.
I wonder if a ls could help with this; say "Shout<server>", giving pearls to anyone and everyone, with a few sacks to moderate spam and whatnot. Sure it stinks that we would have to switch shells and I'm not sure if there would be any issues if a shell hit say 1k+ people, but faux-global chat, yes please.

well it's not perfect for Sandy either.. I have to home point at the Crystal (E-8) near the West Ron gate in N Sandy (so that I can get a new warp scroll @ C-8/9 every time I warp) and then either run to the OP NPC J-9 (not the closest run) or zone into Port Sandy via MH or normal to get to the Abyssea NPC
idunno seems pretty similar. I guess if I were to think about in Windy I would HP @ that crystal in Windy Waters then run North to the CP dude for a new scroll every time first

If you're seriously expecting the congestion to die down the day after the update then you're either mentally handicapped or delusional.

I was all set to take part in helping to alieve the congestion in port jueno; setting my hp bact to windy. I was actually looking forward to it, as I hadn't of had my hp set in windy in mearly 5 years. However, after discovering that the warp npc's were, in fact, in heaven's tower, and they DID NOT provide us with a Jueno warp, I decided to keep my hp in jueno. I think had they they provided us with a warp to jueno, I would have set the hp in windy. I miss the nostalgia but not so much as to spend so much time running to heaven's tower several times/day then running to Pj from the OP as well when I had to.

I'm keeping mine in PJ, never really noticed the congestion anyway. I've also found it easier to get basically anywhere with my HP in Jeuno as close to Horst as I can.
Also windy did get trolled... I don't care how "quick" it is to go zoning through mog houses but think about it... everything that warps you to windy drops you off outside the MH in Port Windy, and to get out of windurst you have the airship, the OP guy right there, and a 30 second run and 1 zone away is the guy to warp you to Whitegate. So even though it's possible to do it quickly by zoning 4 times from port, why wouldn't they have just put the NPC's around where the other ones are? It's not that people not logically thinking about how to get around quickly... it's SE not logically grouping all the warp out of Windy NPC's together.

no no no, exit woods then use the whitegate npc then zone through the mh to al zahbi and take the free taru warp back to wherever you land like qufim, run to jeuno and shout for a tele, tele then take repatration from the FoV book from whatever tele you get, which will put you in port, then run through west sarubaruta to the maw then go into the past, then run to your home nation and use the npc to go to xarc(s) from there enter to the walk of echos, randomly enter a zone someone is already in and aggro, then die and select "Return to Homepoint" which if you're smart is in Nash, hop the boat back to mhura then from there run to the horotoro ruins and zone into heavens tower from there.
Not sure if this has been posted before but, It seems SE did a fail job at trying to relief congestion in P.Jeuno imo....anyone else agree?
