It sounds like how WoE should have been.
I honestly don't see anywhere stating that you'll be getting the effects of Abyssea Atmas. To me it looks more like the Abyssite system.

I see some potential for this.

My first question is if you can trade in more than one assent item to stack your lights. (My guess is yes.)

I like the fact that where you access the planar rifts don't affect your reward.

I also like that the old currencies have been revived.

As for the rewards, I wonder if it's going to be a mixture of new and existing rewards. I see this as a possible way of them fixing the alexandrite acquisition problem as well. I'm betting that comes out in a ToAU version of this to be released later.

A new event that ties up so many areas of content with the currency system is pretty great.

No, it's grellow!

Actually, the official terminology is "Amber Weakness". The other two are "Azure weakness" and "Ruby weakness".

I don't know why people are getting mayad over this.

If these NMs are hard then I'm more than happy with it.

Leveling up atma instead of getting instant win pieces is a good idea, it makes you able to make an atma suit your personal playstyle.

Oh and I also really like this:

"At the successful completion of battle, a mysterious “riftworn pyxis” will manifest from the planar rift and remain for three minutes. All combatants may examine the pyxis, the contents of which will differ for each person. Players can improve both the quantity and quality of their spoils as well as obtain rare atmacite and periapt key items by manipulating “spectral alignment” values as outlined below."

No more ninja lots and hopefully gear is based on what job you're playing.

Oh and also:

"Ascent items can be obtained in the following ways:
Purchased with cruor from a Voidwatch Officer.
Purchased with Conquest Points from a Conquest Guard.
Purchased with Imperial Standings from an Imperial Guard.
Purchased with Allied Notes from an Allied officer.
Found in a treasure casket."

Sounds like you can trade them for Cruor, CP, IS and AN reward respectively.

Oh and finally:

Quote:
Atmacite
By infusing yourself with atmacite using a specific key item, it is possible to enhance your fighting prowess during Voidwatch Ops. Furthermore, atmacite can be upgraded in stages by enriching it with cruor. Detailed information on the infusion, purging, and enrichment of atmacite can be obtained via Atmacite Refiner NPCs and planar rifts.
Sounds like enhancable Atma. Instead of getting instant win key items now we actually have to make one ourselves and make it suit our playstyles/jobs

Quote:
Periapt
These talisman-like objects bestow myriad benefits upon their bearers, such as reducing waiting time for voidstone issuance and enhancing the bonuses granted by ascent items.
Sounds like Abyssites to me.

I'm missing where it's saying we can use Abyssea Atma outside.

Well with the new crit vitality thing coming this update, crit WS might be incredibly nerfed anyway.

Dev said its player side only mobs crit damage wont change

To quell some of your concerns about the adjustments set to take place regarding VIT and critical hits, you'll be glad to know that this adjustment will only be for player characters and NOT monsters. Additionally, in regards to the note about "certain job traits will see their maximum level of effectiveness adjusted by equipment, magic, and/or job abilities" have no fear as no negative adjustments will be taking place. Instead the limits on these will be increased, making players even stronger.

I just want WAR, MNK, NIN and WHM to be brought down a few notches, or other jobs to be brought up to match them.

It's like I really wanted to level SCH but it seems pointless now.

A properly geared SCH with twilight cape and aurastorm can do 1k Cure IVs, so dont see how its pointless.. Sub whm if you want haste, BLM or RDM depending on the need. If anything, outside abyssea, without endless mp, SCH will become one of the better healers due to its native efficiency, sublimation, strats and /rdm convert if needed.

^This.
Hell, I gear for that inside of Abyssea and I'm almost pushing those kinds of cures as a lolGalka, granted I'm still missing a Surya's +2. Outside of abyssea, sublimation is a godsend. I can't count the number of times its saved my ***.

For the longest time I wanted to take up BLM but I saw SCH as a better option for the exact same reason: its efficiency.
My only gripe is being stuck with CureIV. While CureV would be a nice addition (hopefully with the level cap increase) I'm not so sure SE plans to give it to us. Inside of abyssea a SCH just can't keep up with a WHM in terms of sheer numbers.

What as in consistant cure IV's doing over 1k? Or only with certain stratagem?

If it can really do that I'm tempted to level it, because I've always loved the look of the job.
