If Square waits a few more years for 3D gaming to be mastered, they can make 7 with new graphics-3D graphics. They may just be waiting for the technology to have the most superb graphics to test an old favorite on. Keeping the whole ff7 concept in their back pocket gives them a secret weapon to work with in the future.

Very, very little. Writers and scripters make up a vanishingly small amount of a game budget.

someone mentioned how expensive programming and graphic design and everything else would be. I'm assuming for a full console project (as i'm assuming that's what we're talking about [PS3/XBox360]) they're going to put their best programmers on that job. mind you, this would be a huge project nonetheless, and it would cost a pretty penny. but it seems like some of you are overlooking how available programmers are. SE is pretty closed minded to outsiders, but knowing the money hungry fiends that they are, i'm sure if someone would do the same job for a lower price, they'd jump at it. There are a lot of talented graphics designers and programmers that need a job. My point is, i don't think the cost it would take to make is the issue. i believe it's simply maximizing their profits. and it's just not the time for that.

I would really like to see anything FFX related to stop being remade or even considered, all the characters in that game sucked, except maybe Auron and Yuna. And lolSeymour (yeah right...)

CHaracters suck (in my opinion), the battle system was great though, story i wasn't too fond of, then the whole game, run through monster infested area, village, temple, run to next monster infested zone, village temple, repeat, repeat, repeat. xD

Only character that didn't suck in FF10 were Auron and Lulu, Auron was bad *** and I wish Lulu was real so I could totally motorbo... I mean meet her... yeah...

All of those other characters I hated, and Tidus was the worst 'SHOOT LIKE CRAZY' still haunts my night-terrors to this day

Just finished replaying X this past week. I'd still say its my favorite FF game to date.

to be honest, i forgot about LuLu, always loves the goth girls, but she mated with Wakka so that's major points off.

I loved the story and characters. I dunno what is wrong with people these days. What is wrong with Tidus? Last I heard from the anti-popular crew, they hated Squall and Cloud because they were too emo. Now they make a lead that is cheery and optimistic and all of a sudden hes hated too. The story was amazing, characters were good and had depth.

looking forward to XIII-2, finally finished XIII a few days ago, well worth it, and anticipating the sequel. The whole VII should be remade is a 'waste of time' is completely true. A lot of people didn't really like DoC or CC, what makes you think VII being remade will change that. Let it stay in the past and let SE focus on something that might actually do well. If they remake VII for their 20th anny, then thats fine, by then we'll be on the PS4/720 etc. lol
