Party Flag, DAMMIT

I like this game a lot. I can also admit it has its good days and bad days - like how Summer Glau looks hot from certain angles and really fugly from others.

But why the hell has there been no mention of a Seeking Party Flag being implemented? The devs are admitting that the party system needs tweaking but WTD?!

I'm starting a damn petition on the new Lodestone forums when they go live. I'll link it here once it's up.

And I wish it was just put up a flag and wait for an invite like FFXI, if it were, I might actually be playing occasionally right now. But finding a party sucks, I don't like making my own. And I'll be goddamned if I'm going to sit there soloing.

Or how about being able to actually search for people ala XI?

Or maybe even using the arrow keys for the camera?

Thinking over it, I don't get why SE has to fix something that isn't broken.. I get that they wanted to be new and inventive and make sure this game stood out from XI in it's own right... But XI's party system works, there is no way I would want to improve on it.. They didn't care enough about making it a new game to make up new species, but they cared enough to take a working model and say "Nah, that's just too simple.. We have to make this 10x more difficult and ridiculous."

I asked for dark Knight like gear a few weeks ago and waddayaknow. mabye its coincidence but its worth a shot.

I'm willing to bet that it would have taken them more than a few weeks to conjure up, perfect and implement new gear..

I think my IP address is banned from that now. Everytime I write hate mail to Susan Sarandon and Dakota Fanning I also send the party suggestion - which is like, three times a day.

Yes I asked them to remove gear damage and they lowered it. Close enough

In my opinion, this is the thing for me that will turn the whole game around, for me anyways. It makes us become more social, more able to find friends, and it won't make leveling so boring. LFP is the only thing I want :'3.

the whole party flag idea is great, and they are only doing that bc they are butthurt that the devs of FFXI weren't this concerned about how the players want it.

For what it is worth, here is a post from a dev regarding the petition.

"Hey everyone!

I just wanted to chime in and let you guys know that we are aware of your concerns and requests and we have escalated your comments over to Yoshida. It may take awhile before we hear a reply, up to a week or even two, but we didn't want to remain quiet and have you assume we were overlooking the issue.

With that said, please look forward to an update in the future!"

It's pretty cool to at least get the message of "ok, we hear you - it will be a while but we will get back to you..."

At least they are acknowledging what is happening on the forums. To be honest I didn't expect them to actually look on the forums.

Most other companies that have forums... they set it up and never look at it.

Seeing as how they got staff monitoring this stuff and forwarding any opinions gives me a little more hope for this game.

I second everything that was said in this thread. /afkLFG was the best thing in FFXI. Sure you could develop a bad rep, but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice coming home from school to like 10+ /tells for xp parties. I had a list of names who I knew were eager to grind and who were in my lvl range. I could just message them back anytime in the future and hit them up whenever they were online. Social Networking at its finest!

Only game series I know that the devs have ever checked the official forums and such, was the Killzone forums..
