news flash this game isn't hard, HNMs only ever showed patience and time availability not skill but why are you all fighting you don't even know each other.

Hi gilga neighbor I agree some what with you but according to our pal on cardy HNMs are as easy as exping so according to his false logic a exp colibri PT at 75 with 3 DDs 2 BRDs and a healer could take down a "HNM" like say idk Vrtra?

I don't want to troll in here, I'm honestly hoping for some good peeps with the merge. Some that don't come across like you do.
However, I might be wrong with how I am seeing you but the first impression is pretty important, you know.

First you are having a conversation with yourself, only because of being too lazy to actually reading the thread and its posts. Then you continue with blahblah-ing about some HNM drama no one gives a rat's *** about and when I finally got to your sets, which, like you said, were only to show gear off.. Well, that pretty much did it.
I understand if you are proud of something but I don't understand showing off gear in a weird way that makes no sense.

I would make sets for capped haste, for max enmity, for max cure potency, for max STR for max HP, or for w/e with the sweet gear I have gotten with the help of my oh so lovely LS. Shoving them that I really do appreciate them helping me get all of it by using it in a proper way. But that's only me, probably.

Again.. I don't get a *** by trolling.. Certain things just say more than actual words. Since I have no other source of judging about you, those were the steps I took. And if you saw someone showing up in perle/aurore/teal set in your party/ls event you would know what's up as well. Well, I would anyway.

I will leave that alone for now however, since I've gotten an impression and it's not getting any better. However, that shouldn't be any of your concern anyway, I'm guessing that you will find "friends" around here quickly enough. =)

Well, it feels like 50% of the population is JP, 75% of those JP players are JP-ONRY, probably 80% of the other half are american/canadian players and the rest is EU/African and whatnot.
That are no official numbers anyway, that's only how it feels like after growing up on carby.

That migh be good for some but bad for others. Since I've read that there, indeed, are some EU players, with most of them being french according to the posts in this thread, I'm still looking forward to getting new EU players on carby.

Kinda sucks if you can only do stuff during the nights with NA players and hope for doing something with the few non-JP-ONRY JP players during the day.

As far as I can remember, carby has always been a server where you have to stick to the few ppl you know or you are screwed.
You can certainly team up with others but in most of the cases you end up with idiots.

Well, if you mean that the same peeps help each other over and over again, regardless of shell and friendlist, yes, that has been carby.
For me anyway. I've never been in an HNM shell where you get spoiled for doing nothing but being online but I did help some of them out every now and then, when their sleepy members couldn't get up to a window.

I don't mind JP players either, I did make friends with some of them, even though they never chat.. since.. autatranslate is certainly a pain and if you aren't familiar with english much.. that's kinda a useless relationship.
Most JPs rock doing stuff though and that's what I like a lot about them, they aren't as lazy as most players are. Sadly though, they keep too much to themselves around here.

There is a funny thread on here about "friday" as well, which made me giggle quite a few also.

That's too bad that not many ppl seem to know about this poor excuse of a song though.. I myself didn't know about it until this very thread on here. It's just such a horrible song.. I dont believe that it has been even aired over here yet.. luckily.. >_<

hmmm idk gilga never really had issues with getting things done when HNMs were popular endgame wise we had camp battles once aby came out the need for heavy packed linkshells died / down sized we have a few gimps blackbeltless monks etc but I'm sure all servers still do its all a matter of when you started playing the game as far as you gear progression goes.idk about people being spoiled with stuff just because they are online to recieve those said items but I think abyssea has the entire player mind set use to easy stuff.

Well, we never had a problem with the "HNM-scene" either, quite a few shells, NA/Australian/JP ones, all of them competing. Even shells from other servers that moved here. But like I said, I have never been part of that nonsense, only participated in some HNM kills when I was bored and/or peeps needed a hand.

And, as far as carby goes, I don't think that the need for bigger shells has died but rather the peeps available. A lot of peeps just quit the game, some came back later and some still can't be arsed to. In return we have gotten a lot of new players it seems, that don't know what's really going on and never have experienced anything of the old stuff, before abyssea.

To me, it just looks sad and I try to make the most of it, every single day I do play. If it wasn't for the few ppl I know and like to do stuff with, this game would be dead to me.

On that note, I'm really hoping that abyssea isn't the final stage of FFXI >_< that would be so sad..

copy/paste zones where ***is beyond easy things like HMP sets are useless because mages have no need to rest with the proper atmas after about 2hrs in those zones I wanna break my 360 abyssea just spawns bad players with bad habbits due to the ease of things in abyssea we should just rename ffxi "woah" the new wow expansion

XD Abyssea is a whole different story though, lots of fail comming along with it but I just want to say this much, the game has never lacked idiots idiots with good gear and and no clue how to use it, it just has taken a whole new dimension. Not the fault of abyssea itself but the ppl taking advantage of it. Like I said, too many ppl with no clue and the worst part, they can gear like pros too and not deserve any of it.

On that note, I'm going to bed now. c_c

Been this way since longer than I can remember.
